MELISMA MUSIC Professional musicians Sarah-Jane has the most comprehensive selection of acts of any music agency. She spends time with each of her clients to really understand what you want and unlike most agencies, she doesn t charge an extortionate fee! Sarah-Jane is responsible for music at all of my events and her choices have always been faultless, whether I needed a classical harpist, a swing band or a covers act. As she is local, she can recommend a lot of people who are near to the house and affordable. I couldn t have reception music at my wedding, as I wasn t able to find anyone in my budget so I m delighted to be working with Sarah-Jane. Our story The company was born in 1997 after numerous clients who we were singing for asked us to provide other musicians to accompany us and other musicians either before or after our performance. We started to organise the music for complete events and we realised very quickly that there was no one else doing what we could do with such a high level of personal customer service. In 1997 we organised 6 events, in 2011 we organised over 600! Each and every event was tailored to the requests of the clients. What we do We provide personal tailored music using musicians at the high end of the profession who are personal friends or professional colleagues. This means that you can trust us to provide the best people for your event. It s a cliché but the thank you s we get always mention the fact that our musicians are lovely people and very approachable. One of our musicians said that she loves working for us because we always have such lovely clients! So it works both ways.
Our training Andrew and I both studied at Music Conservatory and so we can speak from the angle of the professional musician. We are not agents, instead we say consultant. We hope that means that you feel you can chat to us about the music at your event and feel that we are approachable. We know what works and we have the experience to advise on the best option for the event (and we will tell you if we think we can t help or when we think something won t work). Whilst we are very lucky to make our living from our singing and our consultancy, money isn t the main driving force for what we do. For us, it s wonderful music making a difference to an event and guests enjoying themselves because of that music. On our website it says, We love what we do and we hope that you will love it too That is our ethos and we love hearing from our clients that they had a fantastic time. How we will approach your event We chat to you via email or the telephone about the kind of music you like and what you think your guests will like. We will then see who is free for your date and send information by post or email, which includes biographies for the artists, repertoire lists, sound clips and testimonials. Once you have listened and read what we can offer we can then book the musicians that you like. All quotes include our fee and only a few of our musicians are VAT registered. All public liability insurance and PAT testing is included as well. Once you have booked, you then have the option of a consultation with Sarah-Jane or with your musician to help choose your music and go through the timings of your booking. We offer meetings at Fetcham Park on a regular basis and we will try to book this meeting with you when you are travelling there for a viewing. We can also offer meetings at our home (Reigate about 20 minutes from Fetcham Park) and these are generally at weekends or during the working day during the week. In addition, for a contribution to travel costs, Sarah-Jane can travel to you. All consultations are offered free of charge and can be booked as soon as you have paid your deposit and completed the relevant paperwork.
