ABOUT DUO LONG BIOGRAPHY Nominated in 2014 for Best Percussion Ensemble by DRUM! Magazine, Duo Percussion is a professional percussion pairing known for their eclectic and high-energy performances. Founded by Brennan Connolly and Dave Robilliard, Duo Percussion is dedicated to expanding the percussion duo repertoire and attracting new audiences by performing diverse and entertaining programs of classical and contemporary percussion music. They are committed to musical excellence and have a passion for fostering creativity. Duo has performed in concert halls and community venues both in Canada and internationally. Recent appearances include the Elora Festival, Guelph Chamber Choir, Wolf Performance Hall in London, Imperial Theatre in Sarnia, New Hamburg Live! Festival of the Arts and Bach Music Festival of Canada. They recently completed a tour to Oklahoma City where they appeared as guest artists with the Canterbury Choral Society. Recognized for their educational work, Duo Percussion has performed and given workshops for numerous schools and community groups across Ontario. Founded in the spring of 2008, they were first engaged to perform at a secondary school in Ontario and with an outstanding response, the demand for the group was immediate. Now frequently engaged by schools throughout the province, Duo has performed and presented workshops at the Ontario Music Educator s Conference, MusicFest Canada, Western University and the University of Guelph. With concerts and workshops tailored to suit various educational levels, Duo Percussion has been able to help inspire and enhance the abilities of many young audiences by exposing them to a unique genre of music and immersing them into the world of percussion. The duo s diverse programming uses common percussion instruments as well as innovative items found in daily activities in order to develop the limitless possibilities of percussion music. This motivates and fosters students with their exploratory and creativity skill set, as well as expands their musicianship. DAVE ROBILLIARD LONG BIOGRAPHY A sought after percussionist and educator, Dave Robilliard earned his Bachelor of Music in Performance at the University of Western Ontario and continued to complete his Master of Music in Performance at Oklahoma City University. An active performer, Dave appears regularly with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and the Jeans n Classics Rock Symphony and is principal percussionist with the International Symphony Orchestra. He has also appeared with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra London Canada and is a past member of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and the Enid Symphony Orchestra. Dave is also an active theatre musician, having performed as a pit musician and on stage for productions at the Grand Theatre in London and the Victoria Playhouse in Petrolia. He has also performed for many community productions with Theatre Sarnia and Theatre Woodstock. As an educator, Dave has served on faculty at both the University of Windsor and the University of Western Ontario. He directs the national award-winning South Huron District High School Percussion Ensemble and is in high demand as a clinician in Southwestern Ontario. He is also on faculty at the National Music Camp of Canada, Southampton Summer Music and at PercShop at UWO. He maintains private teaching studios in both Exeter and Petrolia. SHORT BIOGRAPHY Dave Robilliard holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario and Oklahoma City University. BRENNAN CONNOLLY LONG BIOGRAPHY Percussionist and educator, Brennan Connolly holds a Master of Music degree in Performance from Oklahoma City University as well as a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance from the University of Western Ontario. As an orchestral musician, Brennan performs regularly with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and Jeans n Classics Rock Symphony. He has also appeared with the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra London Canada and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Brennan is also an active theatre musician having appeared both onstage and as a pit musician at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. He has also played numerous other community theatre shows with Drayton Entertainment. An active educator, Brennan is a sessional instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University where he directs the Percussion Ensemble and teaches Percussion Methods. He is also on faculty at the Inter-Provincial Music Camp, Southampton Summer Music and is in demand as a clinician in Southwestern Ontario. He maintains a private studio in Kitchener-Waterloo. SHORT BIOGRAPHY Brennan Connolly is an active freelance musician performing in orchestral, theatre and chamber music settings. He performs with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and the Jeans n Classics Rock Symphony. He has also performed both onstage and as a pit musician at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. Brennan holds a Master of Music degree in Performance from Oklahoma City University as well as a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance from the University of Western Ontario. He is a sessional instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University and on faculty at the Inter-Provincial Music Camp and Southampton Summer Music and maintains a private studio in Kitchener-Waterloo.
