You won t want to miss this theatrical showcase. What is even better is that you have the chance to be a part of the fun! Auditions for this show are June 3rd and 4th from 6-8pm at The Colonnade. Directed by Melissa Adams and produced by Kim Parrish of the Catoosa Community Playhouse, this show focuses on the first movie in the ani- The Colonnade Players will present Once Upon a Mattress. This adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale The Princess and the Pea is a musical comedy that tells the story of Prince Dauntless, his domineering mother, Queen Aggravain and his search for a Princess to marry. The Queen tests each would be princess until she meets her match in Winnifred. Come see this charming, fanciful show to see just how Winnifred manages to win the Prince. Once Upon a Mattress is presented through special arrangement with R & H Theatricals: www.rnh.com. This show is directed by Greg Jackson with Musical Direction by Heidi Martin. Once Upon a Mattress mated Shrek series. Characters include, but are not limited to, Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Dragon, Gingy, Lord Farquaad, Pinocchio and the Three Little Pigs. All roles are available to be cast through the audition process. All those trying out for a part must be prepared to sing, dance and read a short scene. Singing auditions are a cappella. Roles are also available for younger children who are not yet able to read. Everyone can be a part of the fun. No previous stage experience is required and no audition materials are needed to try out. Just contains music by Mary Rodgers, Lyrics by Marshall Barer. The book was written by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer. If you thought you knew the story of The Princess and the Pea, you may be in for a walloping surprise! Performances for this show will be held June 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7:30p.m. There will be a Matinee on June 22 at 1:00p.m. The June 15 performance will be interpreted for the deaf. Ticket prices will be $15.00 for adults, $12.00 for Seniors and Students. There is a special Group Rate of $11.00 per person available for groups of 15 or more. watch the movie and be prepared to have some fun! Embrace your inner ogre and come be part of the magic. Show dates for the production of Shrek:The Musical are August 9, 10, 16 & 17. You should be available for all performances on these dates. Rehearsals will take place at The Colonnade on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Additional rehearsals may be necessary as the show dates get closer. With an innovative steampunk set, props and costuming, this classic story will unfold in its original writing. Romeo and Juliet, in defiance COLONNADE NEWSLETTER of their families and the animosity of friends will risk everything to be together. Using the popular world of steampunk, this production proves its continued relevance in the lives of young and old alike as a timeless tale. Auditions dates are June 24th and 25th from 6:00 9:00pm at The Colonnade. Performance dates are August 23, 24, 30 & 31, 2013. In preparation for the audition, you will be given a Shakespearean monologue and time to read it over and become familiar with the dialogue before being asked to read it before the production panel you are welcome to deliver it in your own creative way. You do not have to memorize the monologue. Please be prepared to list any potential conflicts from July 1st to performances.
