Rising PK4 The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle Color half of an egg carton to look like a caterpillar. Name your caterpillar. What adventures did it go on during the summer. Have your mommy/daddy write your story. Bring it to school on the first day! Can I Play Too? by Mo Williams Draw a picture of your best friend. Talk about all the new friends you will meet when you go to school. The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister The Rainbow Fish did not want to share. How did he feel when the other fish did not want to play with him? How did he feel when he shared? Sharing is so much fun! Make something to share with your classmates on the first day of school. It can be a picture, a card, or anything you d like. Have Fun!!!
Rising Kindergarten Choose any Dr. Seuss book of your choice. Parents, read the book aloud to your child. Fill in the graphic organizer on the next page to help them remember the story. Then ask your child how they would redesign the book cover to emphasize what they thought was most important about the book. Use crayons, coloring pencils, markers and etc. to make the color interesting and eye catching. Repeat the above directions Repeat the above directions.

Rising Second Grade Inch by inch by Leo Lionni Scavenger Hunt: students need to find objects in their home and record it on their worksheet. The activity worksheet provides an eight inch measuring strip students may cut off. Challenge: look for objects no one else will find!
