Friday 19th of September 2014 Concert of Black Coffee by Mayookh Bhaumik Invited Artist Fasih Ur Rehman with Barcelona Kathak Project Within the framework of Mercè Música India / Classic-electronic 10.30pm. Plaça de la Catedral On Friday the 19th the Indian group Black Coffee will perform for the first time in Europe, together with the versatile percussionist Mayookh Bhowmick will fill Plaça de la Catedral with a mix of sounds that go from traditional music, going past electronic and Hip Hop. The Black Coffee are a referent of the new generation of Indian musicians and they will be accompanied by the dance group Barcelona Kathak Project, led my the well-known Pakistani dancer Fasih ur Rehman.

In collaboration with the Barcelona City Council This musical group created in 2012, as an initiative of Casa Asia and Barcelona City Council and, made up of 50 young people from 23 different nationalities (60% are Asian), is the display of the cultural diversity in the city. The choir will perform in the open-air within wonderful Sant Pau s Modernist Venue, where Casa Asia s headquarters is. The group Naghmeh Saz brings to Asia Festival the best Persian music. The composer Mohammad Mahdi Bateni and his group has been awarded several times in his country. Naghmeh Saz has given numerous concerts both live and on television and has participated in many festivals in and outside Iran. Monday 22nd of September 2014 Dance, Drums and Music Show New Arirang of the Pocheon Folk Art Company Korea / Music and dance 8.00pm. Wednesday 24th of September 2014 One Day in Asia On the 24th of September Barcelona will live a whole day devoted to Asia, with activities addressed to families and a mixed public that will be concentrated in Plaça dels Àngels, Plaça Joan Coromines and MACBA Auditorium, which aims to be a meeting point for all enthusiasts of Asian culture. Show of Sumbar Talenta Indonesia / Music and dance 1.30pm. Plaça dels Àngels. Asia Stage In collaboration with the Embassy of Indonesia and Himpunan Wanita Karya Sumbar Talenta, created by the NGO Himpunan Karya Wanita, is a group of young talent, and presents a dance and music of West Sumatra, blending tradition and modernity. Concert of Arif Lohar Pakistan / Folk 6.00pm. Plaça dels Àngels. Asia Stage Arif Lohar is a star in Pakistan, and sings with his ximta, a musical instrument similar to tongs. Th singer has been on more than 50 international tours and has moret han 150 albums and 3.000 songs.
