The Second International Competition of Young Musicians Kaunas Sonorum 2013 Regulations I. Organizers 1. The Second International Competition of Young Musicians Kaunas Sonorum 2013 is organized by Kaunas city municipality, Kaunas First Music School, Kaunas Aleksandras Kacanauskas Music School and Kaunas Mikas Petrauskas Music School. 2. The partners of the competition are the following: Kaunas State Philharmony, Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium, and Kaunas Juozas Gruodis Conservatoire. 3. The patron of the competition is Andrius Kupčinskas Mayor of Kaunas city. 4. The director of the competition is PhD Antanas Bagdonas the Head of the Department of Education and Training of Kaunas city municipality. 5. The executive director of the competition is PhD Gintaras Balciunas the chief specialist of Education and Training Department of Kaunas city municipality and the lecturer of Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy, tel. +370 676 23876, email: Kaunassonorum@gmail.com II. Conditions and Requirements for the 6. A native composer s song. Up to 12 min. 2. Classical aria or arietta. 3. A free option classical song. C 01 11 1993 and younger 30 EUR 1. An aria from opera, cantata or oratorio. 2. A romantic song of the XIX century or a romance. 3. A free option classical song. Up to 15 min. The Jury has the right to interrupt any performance exceeding the time limit. 13. Properly filled application forms must be sent by 1 October 2013 at the latest: By email: Kaunassonorum@gmail.com or filled on the competition s website. Together with the filled application form, it is necessary to attach a copy of the birth certificate or identification card, the documents of participant s s payment, a photo of the participant. If participants of the competition need an accompanist it is necessary to attach the notes of pieces. 14. Participants of the competition agree that the list of participants which will include their names, surnames, groups and categories will be published at the places of the competition and on the website of the competition: www.kaunassonorum.kaunas.lt 15. Participation must be paid by 1 October 2013 to the following bank account: Receiver: Kaunas First Music School Address: J. Participation shall be used to cover the competition organization outlays and to buy souvenirs for the winners of the competition. 16. Participants of the competition who request an accompanist must pay an additional of 30 EUR. This request must be indicated in the application form. This is paid for accompanist service at the competition and one rehearsal of 45 minutes. Participants of the competition who request any additional rehearsals with accompanist must pay an additional of 10 EUR for each rehearsal of 45 minutes. The quantity of rehearsals must be indicated in application form. 17. Participants of the competition agree that their performance at the competition can be recorded, broadcasted or reproduced in any technological ways without any payments. 18. Participants of the competition shall have their documents which confirm their identity and which could be presented to the organizers or jury upon request.

5 III. Jury of the Contest 19. Participants of the competition shall be evaluated by an international jury. The evaluation of the jury shall be published at the places of the competition. The evaluation of the jury is final and unappealable. IV. Course of the Competition 20. The competition will be held in Kaunas, from 5 November till 8 October 2013. The performances of participants in the groups will be held from 5 November till 7 November 2013. The final round, the closure of the awarding ceremony of the winners will be held on 8 November 2013. The grand prix winner of each group shall participate in the final round of the competition. The detailed program of the competition will be sent to all participants of the competition and published on the website: www.kaunassonorum.kaunas.lt until the 1 November 2013. V. Prizes 21. Winners of the competition shall be awarded with diplomas, medals, monetary prizes and various souvenirs. 22. Winners of piano and string instruments groups shall be awarded with the following prizes: Winners of A, B and C categories: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The I st place winner of D categories: diplomas and monetary prizes of 150 EUR; The II nd and the III rd place winners of D categories: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The I st place winner of E categories: diplomas and monetary prizes of 200 EUR; The II nd and the III rd place winners of E categories: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The Grand prix winners of these groups: diplomas and monetary prizes of 300 EUR. 23. Winners of wind instruments and accordion group shall be awarded with the following prizes: Winners of A and B categories: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The I st place winners of C categories: diplomas and monetary prizes of 150 EUR; The II nd and the III rd place winners of C categories: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The I st place winners of D categories: diplomas and monetary prizes of 200 EUR; The II nd and the III rd place winners of D categories: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The Grand prix winners of these groups: diplomas and monetary prizes of 300 EUR. 24. Winners of voice group shall be awarded with the following prizes: Winners of A category: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The I st place winner of B category: diplomas and monetary prize of 150 EUR; The II nd and the III rd place winners of B category: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The I st place winner of C category: diplomas and monetary prize of 200 EUR; The II nd and the III rd place winners of C category: diplomas, medals and various souvenirs; The Grand prix winners of these groups: diplomas and monetary prizes of 300 EUR. 25. Only one grand prix winner shall be assigned for each group of participants. 26. The winner of the final round of the competition shall be awarded with the diploma of GRAND PRIX of the competition and the monetary prize of 1 000 EUR. The winner of the competitions GRAND PRIX will not be awarded with the monetary prize of the winner of group Grand prix.

6 27. The diplomats and the winners of special prizes shall be nominated under the decision of the jury. VI. Final Provisions 28. The participation in the competition is voluntary. By taking part in the competition the participants confirm that they are familiar with the regulations of the competition and that they shall follow them. 29. The participants of the competition who break the regulations shall not be evaluated under the decision of the jury.
