General Information Commitment We are thrilled that you are interested in being a part of the Middleton musical! Being a part of a theatrical production is a wonderful opportunity to experience an art form superfood (music, language arts, dance, visual arts, digital arts) and to perform as an ensembl...and, of course, to have some fun! That being said, please consider that joining the musical is also a serious commitment. It requires a great deal of time, effort, and focus to prepare for a production. Students will be expected to come to rehearsals on time and ready to learn with their script and a pencil. Directors will set clear goals for memorization of lines, song lyrics, dance moves, and blocking that may require practice at home for some students. Students must take responsibility for keeping focus during rehearsals and preparing their parts the best that they can to support their fellow cast members and overall progress of the show. The musical is a longer and larger commitment than a simple enrichment class. We typically rehearse up to 3 days a week with some weekend rehearsals. ( NOTE : Most characters will not be requested at every scheduled rehearsal). Please see the Rehearsal Hours page for more information on the time commitment. Keep in mind that students will be at tech rehearsals until 7pm most nights during the week leading up to the show. Please take a close look at the required dates listed in the Middleton Musical Contract and determine with your families if this is a commitment you are ready and willing to take on. The Middleton Musical Contract must be completed online for your student to be given a scheduled audition time. Musical Fee Students participating in the musical will pay a $50.00 enrollment fee (made payable to District 73.5 - to be brought in after they have accepted their assigned role) to cover the cost of their script, musical royalties, sets, props, and some costume items. Most students will be asked to provide their own socks and shoes, and many roles will also provide a basic black base (black pants and shirt). Family Involvement We understand how busy everyone is, but we also need your help to make your students show a success. Please fill out the Aladdin Jr. Family Involvement Form online. Families must complete this form online to attend the student workshops.
