Thank you for expressing interest in the newsletter for the Sandy and Hoodland Public Libraries. We have lots of great events coming up! Program details are listed below. Dates and times are subject to change so please check this link for up to date information: www.ci.sandy.or.us/library ebooks and eaudiobooks Did you get snowed in this winter with nothing to read? Have you been wanting to dive into downloadable ebooks and eaudiobooks? Here s your chance! LINCC (Libraries in Clackamas County) provides cardholders access to two downloadable book services: Library2Go and CloudLibrary. Library2Go is a statewide service and boasts almost 40,000 popular titles. CloudLibrary is exclusively for LINCC cardholders and has a growing number of titles. You can read or listen to books via your computer, tablet, phone or Kindle. Librarians are happy to help you set up and show you how to begin downloading. January 9th - January 15th 2017 Sandy and Hoodland Libraries will be closed January 1st & 16th Both Libraries will close at 5 pm on Friday, January 20th

Monday, January 9th @ 1 pm This 2-1/2 hour workshop, hosted by Eileen Holzman, will begin at 1:00 pm. This is a free program, but please register in person at the main desk at the Sandy Library. At registration you will receive a Supply & Materials List that you will need for the workshop. During this workshop, the instructor guide the painting and will give individual assistance as needed. No painting experience necessary. Teen Graphic Novel Book Club Teen Book Club is undergoing a slight change of focus. January 28th, we will start discussing Graphic Novels. Teen MakerSpace is a program that fosters opportunities for teens to have experiences that ignite creativity, imagination, to satisfy a hunger for information, pique an interest, and connect with a community of creators. Teens 12-17, 3-5pm, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Be inspired. This Popular event is back, January 20th. Teens, ages 12-17, begin the evening at AntFarm for karaoke 8-10:15 pm. We will move to the library for board games, Wii, Minecraft and YouTube until midnight. Sponsored by the Friends of the Sandy Public Library, the Library Coffee House is held on the first Friday of each month at 6 pm. This event features live music, refreshments and a craft for kids The Doubleclicks Ever wonder what you get if They Might Be Giants wrote about Tolkien, dinosaurs, books, superheroes? Of course you have! The Doubleclicks were born on Youtube and have a wonderful, devoted following. They have toured all over and not surprisingly, have perform at a lot of libraries along the way. We are very excited to welcome Portland sisters, Angela & Aubry Webber to our January Library Coffeehouse! 4 Book groups; Men, Women, Mystery & Hoodland Visit the Library website or like the City of Sandy on Facebook to see what books the book groups are reading next. Book Groups meet at the Sandy Library unless otherwise noted. Men s Group will meet January 2nd at 7 pm. Women s Group will meet January 12th at 7 pm. Mystery Group will meet January 26th 2 pm at the Sandy Senior Center Hoodland Book Group meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. He has a wonderful variety of landscape photography from around Oregon. Eric Griswold Photography affirms my connection with the world.
