What is Cross Rock? Cross Rock is a Christian rock music program that provides weekend, holiday and summer camp experiences for young musicians ages 9 to 18. Cross Rock offers students the opportunity to study guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and voice with the best teachers available in a fun creative safe Christian environment. Cross Rock also offers classes in live performance, songwriting, recording, live sound and praise team. Whether you are beginning or a more advanced player, Cross Rock can assist you in expanding your skills as a musician, live performer and a contemporary worship team leader. Philosophy and Purpose Music influences all our lives. It affects us in ways we may never realize. It is the sole purpose of Cross Rock to provide students with a learning experience that teaches current popular musical styles with a positive message based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Cross Rock wants to bring out the creativity and freedom of expression in each student as they learn their instrument, develop new friendships and learn principles that will impact their music and their lives. Now there is an alternative at Cross Rock.

Cross Rock Weekend Rock In Program The Cross Rock Weekend Rock In is a 2 week mini camp that offers young musicians of all levels the opportunity to jam, praise and enjoy a weekend of fellowship with each other. Cross Rock Music Camps Cross Rock offers a more intense music and praise experience through special camps scheduled during school breaks, holidays and the summer months. Campers will attend a variety of songwriting, recording, performance and group instrument classes including special workshops by well known Christian artists! Songwriting/Recording What makes a great song? Campers will learn the basics of writing, composing and recording a piece of music. Campers will collaborate on writing the melody, chord progression and lyrics to a Christian rock song. Instrument Proficiency Class/Curriculum Each day Campers will learn the techniques necessary to play and excel at their instrument. Campers will apply their knowledge in class to the songs they are rehearsing and will be performing at the final concert. Concerts and Special Events During the camp session Christian rock bands will perform and minister to Cross Rock students on the Cross Rock stage. These sessions are small, intimate and can only be attended by Cross Rock students. Band Rehearsals - Campers will be placed in bands according to age and level of ability. Each band will choose a Christian based cover song to arrange, rehearse and make their own.

Cross Rock Music Camps Live Stage - Bands will rehearse on the main stage using a professional backline of gear. An audio engineer will be operating the console as campers get to experience playing live in front of a live audience. Stage presence will also be a focus of this class. Cross Rock was founded in 2003 dba Joyful Noise Christian Rock Camp. The program was created by Jazz Guitarist Steve Freeman who at the time was an instructor at Greater Atlanta Christian School. Freeman is also the founder of Atlanta Institute of Music an accredited school for guitar, bass, drums keyboards and voice. Cross Rock hires only the best musicians and qualified music instructors in the business. Instructors must be trained in teaching private, ensemble and group instruction.
