PRO LOCO BRAONE in collaboration with Casa Torre Bonfadini - piccolo salotto della cultura ORGANIZES the 3 rd INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS RIZZARDO BINO 1. Presentation Casa Torre Bonfadini and Pro Loco Braone organise the third edition of the International Competition for young musicians Rizzardo Bino. The Competition aims to enhance young musicians and to highlight their talent, art and inspiration, encouraging cultural exchanges and promoting the territory of Valle Camonica. 2. Date The event will be from Friday the 6 th through Sunday the 8 th of July 2018. The Auditions will be on Friday, July 6 th and Saturday, July 7 th, 2018. On Sunday, July 8 th, 2018, starting at 3 pm, the Final Audition will take place and the winners will be chosen by the Selection Committee later in the day. 3. Prerequisites The Contest is open to and welcomes nationals of all countries, who are no older than 30 years old. The entrants of the last edition can be enrolled. The winners of the last edition (the first places in every category and the winners of Rizzardo Bino Prize) can be enrolled only in different categories other than that awarded. The required prerequisites have to be met by the registration deadline. 4. Categories The Competition is divided into 4 categories: 1. CAT. UNDER-14: Student Soloists born by 31/12/2004; 2. CAT. A: Non-Graduate Soloists (before final exam Bachelor) born by 31/12/1988; 3. CAT. B: Graduate Soloists (after final exam Bachelor) born by 31/12/1988; 4. CAT. C: Chamber Music (from Duo onwards) maximum average age: 32 years old. 5. Selection Committee The Selection Committee will be composed of: Maestro GIAMPAOLO BISANTI, Commission President (Conductor); Prof. UMBERTO FANNI (General Manager of the Royal Opera House Muscat); Prof. MAURIZIO MAGLIETTA (Artist Manager); Prof. GIUSEPPE MIGLIOLI (Viola Performer and Lecturer and ESTA Advisor); Prof.ssa SATU JALAS SIBELIUS (Violinist); Pro Loco Braone President or his delegate (ex-officio member). The Commissioners will express their vote in secret ballot and the grade point will be calculated arithmetically. The decision of the jury is final and incontestable. 6. Admission Process Candidates will have to submit the application, as well as any other documents required, no later than June 17 th, 2018 at 8 pm (UTC/GMT+1), by one of the following procedures: - Online: through the web site www.casatorrebonfadini.it, section International Competition for Young Musicians "Rizzardo Bino". At the end of the online application, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the Applicant. - E-mail: sending the enrollment form in PDF format (downloadable from the website www.casatorrebonfadini.it) and a copy of the payment of the enrollment fee to the email address: casatorrebonfadini@gmail.com. The Organizer will send you an e-mail to confirm your registration. - Postal service: filling out the enrollment form (downloadable from the website www.casatorrebonfadini.it) and a copy of the payment of the enrollment fee and sending them with a registered mail to: Pro Loco Braone c/o Comune di Braone, via Re 2, 25040, Braone (BS) Italy. - Delivery: delivering the registration form (downloadable from the website www.casatorrebonfadini.it) and a copy of the payment of the enrollment fee to: Comune di Braone, via Re 2, 25040, Braone (BS) Italy. If you don t supply them, you will be disqualified. The application implies the acceptance of the Selection Committee s judgment. 7. Enrollment fee The registration fee is: 1. Cat. UNDER-14 = 25.00 2. Cat. A = 30.00 3. Cat. B = 35.00 4. Cat. C = 30.00 per person up to a maximum of 180.00. The Organization Esta-Italia support the 3rd edition of the Competition. Esta is the acronym of European String Teachers Association, a body which has a branch in every Nation. The Esta-Italia members benefit from a 10% discount for Competition registration fee, for all the master classes fee and for concerts tickets organized by Casa Torre Bonfadini in 2018. 3rd INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS RIZZARDO BINO 2 of 6
The aforementioned fee will have to be paid within the enrollment deadline (see article 6.) by one of the following procedures: bank transfer to the account held by: Pro Loco Braone - IBAN: IT56R 03111 54160 000000040193; online payment at the end of the online enrollment; a commission is applied; money transfer to PayPal account: casatorrebonfadini@gmail.com, and sending the copy of the transfer at the same e-mail address. The registration fee is nonrefundable. 8. Examination program Contestants will have to present at least 2 pieces by different authors from two different styles and periods. The Jury may, at its sole discretion, ask candidates to complete all or part of the examination program. The Audition will be max. 15 minutes long for all categories, exclyding the under- 14 category, which will be 10 minutes long. The Jury has the right to interrupt or repeat any performance at any time. 9. Time-table The Contestants who have completed the prerequisites (Art. 3) will be convened by e-mail to the address provided during the admission process. If you don't supply it, it will be considered a resignation from the Competition. You can also consult the examination time-table on the website www.casatorrebonfadini.it. The potential alterations will be transmitted through the website and by e-mail. 10. Schedule The Auditions and the Award ceremony concert will take place at Casa Torre Bonfadini, Via S. Antonio, 25040, Braone (BS) - Italy, where the Competition administrative office will be situated for the registrations and information. The Auditions will take place from Friday the 6 th at 9 am through Saturday the 7 th July at 7 pm. There will be a first selection for Under-14 category on Thursday, July 5 th, 2018. Two Jury s delegates will choose 5 young contestants who can play during the Auditions on Friday, July 6 th and Saturday, July 7 th and they can compete for the prizes. The Candidates will be admitted to the Auditions in the prearranged order and they will need to arrive that the time previously specified by the Organizer. The latecomers may only be admitted at the incontestable discretion of the Selection Committee, before the closure of the category report. The Contestants will have to present themselves with the following documents: - Valid ID Card or passport - Two copies of the scheduled pieces scores. 11. Pianist accompanist The Organizer provides the participants with a piano accompanist, after paying an additional charge of 30.00 which will have to be sent in a single payment with the registration fee. Therefore, this surcharge must be submitted with the enrollment fee by the registration deadline. The price includes the opportunity for the Applicant to rehearse with the Pianist accompanist for 20 minutes. The rehearsal will be scheduled on the same Audition day. Any additional rehearsal requested by the Contestant will have to be agreed directly with the Competition administrative office, upon payment and check of the Pianist accompanist s availability. If the Contestant wishes to perform with the piano accompanist, he must send the scores to the Competition administrative office no later than the above-mentioned date. 12. Rankings and finalists Before having completed the Auditions, the Selection Committee will select the worthy Contestants for each category who will be entered into the Final Audition. The Finalists will be advised by telephone by the Competition Organizer and they will perform at the public awards concert at Casa Torre Bonfadini. No rankings will be drawn up for unqualified participants at the Finals. 13. Final Audition The public awards concert of the 3 rd edition of the International Competition for young musicians Rizzardo Bino will take place on Sunday, July 8 th, 2018, starting at 3.00 pm. The finalists will follow the Audition Program, performing the pieces requested by the Committee. At the end of the concert, the Selected Committee will leave to deliberate and draw up the rankings. 14. Prizes CAT. UNDER-14 1 st place: 150.00 + Certificate of recognition 2 nd place: 50.00 + Certificate of recognition 3 rd place: Certificate of recognition CAT. A Non-Graduate Soloists 1 st place: 500.00 + CONCERT at Casa Torre Bonfadini in 2019 2 nd place: 300.00 3 rd place: 150.00 The 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd prize winners receive free enrollment to the MASTERCLASS Give me a feedback which will take place at Casa Torre Bonfadini on Monday, July 9 th, 2018. The Organizer will treat the winners to accommodation for the night of Sunday, July 8th in a select hotel. CAT. C Chamber Music 1 st place: 1,200.00 + CONCERT at Casa Torre Bonfadini in 2019 2 nd place: 800.00 3 rd place: 400.00 SPECIAL PRIZES Rizzardo Bino Prize: 1,000.00 + plaque. Best under-18 Prize: 1,000.00 Esta-Italia Prize: the organization Esta Italia raffles a prize to a worthy chamber group with strings and/or to a worthy string musician; the prize is a concert during one of its national events. The organization can decide whether or not to assign the prize. ArteDonna PromAzioni360 Prize (best female player): jewel. The Selection Committee reserves the right to recommend deserving talent to national and international concert foundations. The Selection Committee reserves the right to not award a prize. The prizes will be transferred by bank transfer no later than 31 st December 2018. 15. Recordings Contestants may not demand any economic claim for audio and/or video recordings for each stage of the Competition. These registrations will be endure exclusive possession of Pro Loco Braone for any use. Contestants may not be recorded or photographed during the competition, except by Express Association's permission. 16. Responsibility The Organizer reserves the right to make all the changes that are necessary and it disclaims any responsibilities for offenses against Contestants and their property during the Competition. 17. Travel, room and board expenses Contestants will pay all travel, room and board expenses incurred. The Organizer will provide them a list of hotels, restaurants and bars that are associated with the Competition and, upon request, it will mediate for the booking phase. Participants will have to personally provide the instruments (except the piano) and footstools and, upon request, will mediate for the booking phase. 18. Processing of personal data In compliance with the Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 dated 30/06/2003, the personal data provided by the Candidates in the Competition enrollment applications will be collected at the Casa Torre Bonfadini administrative office for the purpose of managing the Competition.
