What is Corroboree? Canada Corroboree is a major roadshow held in Australia targeting travel agents, tour operators, wholesalers & media. It is an opportunity to present to approximately 1000 retail travel agents highlighting the amazing experiences Canadian destinations and product have on offer. There is the opportunity to meet with many Australian media at dedicated media events in Sydney and Melbourne with attendees always keen to hear the latest story angles or travel news. The B2B (supplier/dmo to wholesaler) event in Sydney is held to maximise the exposure of Canadian sellers to the Australian market and to expand the Canada content in the Australian partner catalogues. The retail travel agent events are held in the evening from 5.30pm to 9.00pm. There are 2 levels of participation for Canadian suppliers - as a stage presenter or as a tabletop participant. Maximum time is given for one on one talk time with the agents, along with the stage presentations. Before and after the formal presentations travel agents have the opportunity to move around the room collecting brochures and meeting with exhibitors. Media Events: The media events are held in Sydney and Melbourne with key media invited to attend. Canadian participants have a 2 minute presentation time and should highlight their destination with new and interesting product focus using video, graphics or something completely out of the box! Theme 2015 Get Smart TV show / Spy - Espionage How it s structured - The whole presentation would take the audience on a journey of intrigue and tongue in cheek espionage to uncover why you need to Get Smart about Canada. The presentation would be driven by none other than Control s most famous agent Maxwell Smart. The Host Donald Mackee would play the role of Maxwell Smart with all the typical lines and comical misadventures that made the character an icon. He would be dressed in a typical 60 s suit, white shirt and tie. The Presenters Role - All of the Canadian representatives would play either a Control agent or a Kaos agent. To play their character they would simply wear one or two small items in the form of a hat, scarf, feather bower, eye patch etc. These would be easy to bring from Canada or if necessary we could source here Down Under. The Audience s Role Each member of the audience will have been issued Field Agent Reports that they would need to fill out by listening to all the presentations. At the end, the 3 lucky agents that have completed their training by correctly answering all the questions in their field reports will be selected to go on a mission to Canada. The Story Starts with a video intro made by editing a collage of Get Smart snippets to set up the theme (and if possible with several snippets of Donald as Maxwell Smart at recognisable Canadian landmarks - Donald would compile these when he visits Canada on holidays in January 2015). After the video intro, Max would be assigned an important mission to discover why people are Getting Smart about Canada. He would then take the audience on a journey through the presentation by speaking to and interrogating several Canadians to find out all of Canada s Smart secrets and intriguing places to visit and stay. The story culminates in Max gathering all the clues and solving the mystery as to why everyone needs to Get Smart about Canada and needing to assign 3 trainee agents (The winners from the major prize draw) to travel to Canada on their own mission to confirm what Max has revealed through the presentation. The Set Mission Impossible music from the Tom Cruise movies would play as the audience take their seats. A looping Get Smart about Canada animation fills the video screen. The looping animation will also profile all the presenters logos in some way. To the left of the stage would be 3 stools. On either outer edge of the stage would be banners (push up) with the title Control HQ at top and all the Canadian company logos displayed at the bottom. 3
