CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS A. CONCLUSIONS After the data analysis are completed, the writer draws two conclusions based on the problem statements and the results of the data analysis. The conclusions are as follows: 1. The techniques used by the translator in translating Online Booking Guide on www.airasia.com. In this research there are 10 techniques applied by the translator in translating online booking guide by AirAsia. It is in the form of 2 single techniques and 21 multiple techniques. Those are: 1. Established Equivalent (3 times or 8.82%) 2. Reduction 3. Established Equivalent + Naturalized Borrowing (4 times or 23.54%) 4. Established Equivalent + Amplification (2 times or 5.90%) 5. Established Equivalent + Linguistic Amplification 6. Established Equivalent + Reduction 7. Established Equivalent + Literal Translation 8. Established Equivalent + Transposition

In addition, the translator not just applied one technique to translate the sentences in online booking guide by AirAsia. There are many data, which used multiple techniques and most of the data use established, equivalent indeed. 2. Translation techniques affect the quality of translation of Online Booking Guide on www.airasia.com. The conclusions of the result of data analysis, in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability, are as follows: 1. Accuracy The writer found that there are 23 accurate data (67.64%), 10 less accurate data (29.42%), and 1 inaccurate data (2.94) out of 34 data. It can be conclude that the most of data translated accurately. 2. Acceptability
The writer discovered that there are 19 acceptable data (55.89%), 14 less acceptable data (41.17%), and 1 unacceptable data (2.94%) out of 34 data. From the results, it can be concluded that the translations of online booking guide by AirAsia tend to be acceptable because most of the translation of sentences are acceptable in target language. 3. Readability The writer discovered that there are 27 readable data (79.36%), 6 less readable data (17.70%), and 1 unreadable data (2.94%) out of 34 data. From the results above, it can be concluded that that the translations of online booking guide by AirAsia tend to be readable because most of the translation of sentences are readable in target language. The respondents can catch the meaning easily without reading the sentences twice. B. RECOMMENDATIONS Several recommendations for the translator, lecturers, students and other researchers are proposed as follows: 1. The translator The writer realizes that some difficulties may appear in the translation process. To deal with those difficulties or problems, the translator should apply some strategies to translate. It will be better if the translator learns about translation theory, reads some researches related to translation studies, and joins workshops about translating. So, it will be beneficial for the translator in translating. It is also suggested to the translator to have translation brief before they start to translate.
In this case, the translator should know how to translate airplane website which consist of flight terms. The use of language must be easy to the reader so they could easily book the ticket or understand the meaning. It can affect to the readability aspect. In addition, the translator should not use bowworing technique to translate most of data. It will be better for them to ise amplification. So, the do not just borrow the words but they could add the message. 2. Other researcher There are many kinds of online booking guide in internet and also many interesting cases found in that kind of procedure text. It is suggested to other researchers who are interested in conducting a research with the same topic, to analyze procedure text especially in online booking guide if airplane websites with different function or deeper about the type of imperative sentences. 3. Student For the students who are interested in translating studies especially in flight terms are expected to find additional references to enrich the knowledge. It is recommended that the student have understanding about flight terms especially the one which related to particular subject field, the student has a deep understanding about the techniques in order to solve the problems.
