Welcome back to school Dear students, the summer has ended. The school year at last has begun. But this year is totally different. I promise we ll only have fun. We won t study any mathematics, and recess will last all day long. Instead of the pledge of allegiance, we ll belt out a rock-and-roll song. We ll only play games in the classroom. You re welcome to bring in your toys. It s okay to run in the hallways. It s great if you make lots of noise. For homework, you ll play your Nintendo. You ll have to watch lots of T.V. For field trips we ll go to the movies and get lots of candy for free. The lunchroom will only serve chocolate and triple fudge sundaes supreme. Yes, that s what I heard from my teacher before I woke up from my dream

Lining Up Every time I get in line, I stand so straight and tall; I keep my arms down by my side, I do not move at all. My head is facing forward, My eyes look straight ahead; My lips are closed, my eyes are open, Listening to what is said. School School is something, we must all embrace. Knowledge we need, to seek out and chase. Subjects and teaching styles, are plentiful and vary. Just like the backpacks,

we all need to carry. Sports, clubs, and activities, at every single turn. So much to do, study and learn. To get the most from school, we should consistently attend. Around each corner, there s always a friend. Our favourite teachers, are friendly and kind. Their passion and job, to expand every mind. School is something, we must all embrace. Just remember to learn, at your own pace.

You can be whatever you want to be There is inside you all of the potential to be whatever you want to be, all of the energy to do whatever you want to do. Imagine yourself as you would like to be, doing what you want to do, and each day, take one step towards your dream. And though at times it may seem too difficult to continue, hold on to your dream. One morning you will awake to find that you are the person you dreamed of, doing what you wanted to do, simply because you had the courage to believe in your potential and to hold on to your dream.

The aliens have landed The aliens have landed! It's distressing, but they're here. They piloted their flying saucer through our atmosphere. They landed like a meteor engulfed in smoke and flame. Then out they climbed immersed in slime and burbled as they came. Their hands are greasy tentacles. Their heads are weird machines. Their bodies look like cauliflower and smell like dead sardines. Their blood is liquid helium. Their eyes are made of granite. Their breath exudes the stench of foods from some unearthly planet. And if you want to see these sickly, unattractive creatures, you'll find them working in your school;

they all got jobs as teachers. Bring your own lunch Don't eat school lunchesnot even a lick. They might make you nauseous. They might make you sick. Just take a small bite and you'll start to feel ill. If the veggies don't get you, the meatloaf sure will. A bad case of the sneezes Last night I had the sneezes. I was really very ill. My mother called the doctor who prescribed a purple pill. At eight o'clock I went to bed. My mom turned out the light. I used up one whole box of Kleenex sneezing through the night. I sneezed my brains out in my bed. I didn't get much rest. So that's the reason, teacher, that I flunked the spelling test.

Don t bring camels in the classroom Don't bring camels in the classroom. Don't bring scorpions to school. Don't bring rhinos, rats, or reindeer. Don't bring mice or moose or mule. Pull your penguin off the playground. Put your python in a tree. Place your platypus wherever you think platypi should be. Lose your leopard and your lemur. Leave your llama and your leech. Take your tiger, toad, and toucan anywhere but where they teach. Send your wombat and your weasel with your wasp and wolverine. Hide your hedgehog and hyena where you're sure they won't be seen. Please get rid of your gorilla. Please kick out your kangaroo. No, the teacher didn't mean it

when she called the class a "zoo." Falling asleep in class I fell asleep in class today, as I was awfully bored. I laid my head upon my desk and closed my eyes and snored. I woke to find a piece of paper sticking to my face. I'd slobbered on my textbooks, and my hair was a disgrace. My clothes were badly rumpled, and my eyes were glazed and red. My binder left a three-ring indentation in my head. I slept through class, and probably I would have slept some more, except my students woke me as they headed out the door.

Please Mrs Butler Please Mrs Butler This boy Derek Drew Keeps copying my work, Miss. What shall I do? Go and sit in the hall, dear. Go and sit in the sink. Take your books on the roof, my lamb. Do whatever you think. Please Mrs Butler This boy Derek Drew Keeps taking my rubber, Miss. What shall I do? Keep it in your hand, dear. Hide it up your vest. Swallow it if you like, love. Do what you think best. Please Mrs Butler This boy Derek Drew Keeps calling me rude names, Miss. What shall I do? Lock yourself in the cupboard, dear.

Run away to sea. Do whatever you can, my flower. But don't ask me!
