SITE MANAGER NOTES MARCH 2018 Spring is in the air! March 20 th is the first day of spring! Spring s arrival brings warm breezes, flowers, and thoughts of house cleaning and going through closets to get rid of items no longer wanted or needed. It s a good time to go through your storage space as well. If that doesn t suit your fancy, a nice walk on a beautiful day is a great way to boost the spirit and take in that fresh air. Our outdoor walking program begins in May. New Residents: No new residents this month! 100% occupied. Pest Control Services: On Monday, March 5 th, the following apartments will be inspected for preventative pest control: Unit # s: 103, 104, 203, 204, 302, and 319 You do not have to be present, if you don t want to be. A staff member will be escorting our exterminator during this time.
Furnace Filters: This service will be provided beginning at 10:00am: Tuesday, March 6: 3 rd floor Wednesday, March 7: 2 nd floor Thursday, March 8: 1 st floor Laundry Room: A clarification for when things go wrong in the laundry room. If you lose money in a washer or dryer, you will need to call Coin-Mach yourself and request a refund. They will send you a check. The phone number is posted on the machines. If a washer or dryer is malfunctioning, you will need to report that to Cindy. E-mails, v-mails, or a written note are great ways to report. Please provide details as to what the problem is. Cindy will call Coin-Mach and post the machine out of order until it is fixed. St. Patrick s Day is March 17 th : You may see many shamrock leaves on this day! The shamrock is the most famous symbol, not only of St. Patrick s Day but of all of Ireland, along with the color green. People all over the world like to wear something green on this special day because green signifies the onset of the spring season and the green shamrock is said to possess magical powers. When St. Patrick was evangelizing the emerald isle, he used the shamrock to explain the mystery of the Trinity, one God in three persons. A special Happy St. Patrick s Day to all Irish residents and to all of us who wish we were Irish on this special day!
Lobby Entrance Area: Just a reminder, that the lobby area by the entry door should be clear of all Residents and guests. If you are waiting for a ride, it is okay to sit and wait for your ride in the lobby. But please, do not come down to the lobby more than 15 minutes prior to your ride arriving. It is extremely noisy in that area and congested when folks gather there and the office is open. Also, since we are a business, we leave our lobby lights on to keep the area well-lit. Please do not turn them off. We would appreciate your cooperation in these matters. Proper Attire in the Common Areas: A gentle reminder for all residents when you leave your apartment home, please be appropriately dressed with SHOES on your feet. Too often, we see Residents in housecoats and/or slippers. This is unacceptable. If you are in any common area in the building, you must be fully clothed with shoes on. The Linden House of Mishawaka staff would like to wish all of our Residents a very Happy and Blessed Easter!
