Why do we find ourselves increasingly sucked into imaginary versions of the present, be they virtual reality games or news bubbles? Moving from 3D maps of twentieth-century literature to the fabricated realities of twenty-first century media, Dr. Alex Christie will discuss the rise of imaginary worlds and their tendency to spill over into the real world.
