As you review the hymns with the students, you may add references to terms and concepts they should already understand such as singing in unison, solo, duet, trio, quartet, singing loud (f), soft (p), legato (smooth), and crescendo or decrescendo during the song. Younger students may search old magazines (National Geographic, TIME for kids, etc.) for what they would consider patriotic photographs. They may create a bulletin board about America using what they have found. 4
