Shrewsbury Youth Theater Participant Packet G2K Cinderella Production Information Production Dates: November 9 7:00pm November 10 7:00pm November 11 7:00pm November 12 2:00pm Program Supervisor: Lauren Mayer Lmayer@cityofshrewsbury.com Director: Angie Hetz Choreographer: Bex Gotsch Music Director: Cindy Kessler Fees Rehearsal fees for each cast member are $65 for Shrewsbury Residents and $75 for Non Residents. Registration fees are payable by September 13th Failure to pay the fee or to make other payment arrangements by this time may result in removal from the show. All forms and/or fees should be turned in at the Parks & Recreation desk in the main lobby. Please do not turn in any forms and/or fees to the production staff. Tickets/Seating General admission tickets cost $8 each. Ticket prices will go up to $10.00 starting Thursday November 9th. Also starting November 9th tickets will only be available at the will call desk starting at 6pm. Orders are filled on a first come, first served basis, and we will sell a maximum of 235 tickets per night. Tickets are not necessary for children ages 3 and under; however, they must sit on your lap. Once you purchase tickets, you may trade them in at the front desk for a different date if it is available. We will not buy back or resell tickets. You may try to sell extra tickets before the performance. We strongly encourage you to purchase your tickets early. If you have any questions please contact the front desk at 314-647-1003. The auditorium doors will open one half hour prior to show time for each performance. All parents, family members, and/or audience members are prohibited from saving seats in the auditorium prior to the opening of the house. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Please be advised that we will clear the house of all coats, programs, and other seat savers prior to opening the doors. As a courtesy to all other paying patrons, we ask that you limit your saved seats to no more than three per person once you enter the theater. You may order tickets over the phone with a credit card and they will be kept at the desk until you pick them up. Rehearsals Rehearsals are closed to all except the cast, staff, and designated parent volunteers. Rehearsals should not exceed the time frame listed on the rehearsal schedule. Rehearsals should never be an excuse for not having schoolwork completed -education comes first! Youth are encouraged to bring their homework to rehearsal. Parents may hang out in the lobby of the City Center by the front desk or in the Adult Lounge. There is TV and WIFI access in the building. At 8pm please everyone will need to wait in the adult lounge until rehearsal is over. Snacks We understand that sometimes snacks are needed during rehearsals. We ask that you please send a peanut free snack and a bottle of water. The cast will NOT be able to vist the vending machines during rehearsals. Absence Policy We have a limited number of rehearsals in which to prepare for this production, and we are asking for hard work and prompt attendance at all rehearsals. All cast members are expected to be present and on time at every rehearsal for which they are scheduled. Absences 2
are allowed only at the discretion of the Production Staff. In addition, the Production Staff reserves the right to re-cast roles if a participant s absences and/or tardiness are deemed excessive. No absences will be allowed during the final rehearsal week beginning November 6th. Please keep in mind that if a cast member misses a rehearsal, it affects the entire cast! If you will be unable to make a rehearsal due to illness please email Lauren as soon as possible. Participation Waiver In accordance with Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation policy, we must have a signed waiver on hand for all participants! Participation waivers are due at the end of this meeting. T-Shirt Orders T-Shirts are included with registration fees. Please indicate the cast member s shirt size on the registration form. Cast Photos Cast photos we will no longer be selling cast photos. We will still have the cast meet at 6:30pm on Wednesday November 8th, to pose as a whole cast and let parents take photos. I will also take a cast photo and post this to the city website. Copyright Laws Copyright laws strictly prohibit the videotaping or photographing of any scheduled performance. Additionally, any photocopied scripts must be returned to the Parks and Recreation Department at the end of our production run. Parents will be allowed to take photos and video tape on November 8th The run through will start at 7:00pm. Parents will be asked to clear the ballroom till after the cast photo before the cast takes the stage this is the only day that video taping and photography will be allowed during the show. We do our best to take photos during rehearsals and get them online for parents to view. Scripts Please encourage cast members to take notes and high light in their scripts, these are theirs to keep. 3
Parent Responsibilities Be proud that you are giving your child the opportunity to expand their interests. Enjoy sharing your child s talent and hard work during the performances. Volunteer to work at least Two nights of rehearsals or two jobs at the performances - either concessions or backstage or ushering. Volunteer signups will be available via Signupgenius.com on September 13th. A link will be emailed out. Please assist your actor in accessing the music on the Google drive for rehearsal purposes. It can be downloaded or listened to online. Please do not depend on youtube for rehearsing at home. Cast Responsibilities Cast members must: be courteous and respectful of Shrewsbury City Center staff and program staff. be on time to all rehearsals. respect the building as a place of business by walking when in the hallways, using inside voices, and cleaning up after themselves. use staff phones only to call home. remain in the designated rehearsal area at all times. work hard and have fun participating. memorize your lines, music, and blocking in a timely manner, and practice between rehearsals! Cast members are expected to respect other cast members at all times, we will not tolerate inappropriate touching, language, or behavior and this may result in removal from the show. BIO SHEET Bio information will need to be turned in to Lauren by email no later than November 1 st. A bio example will be emailed a week before the bios are due. 4
Costumes and Makeup -Each cast member is responsible for their own makeup and costumes. - For all questions please contact Lauren. Rehearsal Cancelations Due to the fact that all our staff also have full time jobs there at times where rehearsals maybe canceled with late notice. Please like Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation on Facebook to get up to the minute changes in schedules. Also please make sure you are receiving emails from me also. Cast Party The Cast party will be held following the last performance Sunday November 12th. This is just for cast members. A pick up time will be announced tech week.
