GAVIN GEORGE, piano soloist Twelve-year old piano prodigy who made his symphonic debut at age seven. DR. MICHAEL HAWLEY Founder of Friendly Planet, a nonprofit dedicated to children s education in developing countries. Also founded Toys of Tomorrow and co-founded Things That Think. DR. JOHN IVERSEN Neuroscientist known for his research on rhythm, music, language, and music s impact on children s brain development. DR. GARY MCPHERSON An international leader in music education and prominent expert in the study of prodigy. DR. SCOTT MAKEIG Director, UCSD Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience with seminal contributions to the neuroscience of human cognition and emotion. DR. TIM MULLEN Neuroscientist, educator, and artist; directs Syntrogi Labs, developing novel solutions for mapping the brain in health and disease. Serves as Creative Director of Mainly Mozart s. DR. ISABELLE PERETZ Dr. Peretz s work focuses on the musical potential of ordinary people, its neural correlates, its heritability and its specificity relative to language. DR. BARBARA REUER Founder and Director of MusicWorx and Resounding Joy, Dr. Reuer is known internationally for her expertise in musiccentered wellness and music therapy. DR. JOANNE RUTHSATZ Professor of psychology and specialist on child prodigies who is investigating a link between autism and exceptional behavior exhibited by child prodigies. DR. LAUREL TRAINOR Founding director of the McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind, a multidisciplinary research group that promotes the scientific study of music. DR. CONCETTA TOMAINO Internationally renowned music therapy pioneer; Founding Director, Institute for Music & Neurologic Function. DR. MARK TRAMO Neurologist, cognitive neuroscientist, artist, and songwriter, who conducts original research on the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of music perception and cognition.
