The school will be closed for the summer vacations from 19 th May to 2 nd July and will reopen on 3 rd July, 2018. Please check the school website for any changes. Submit all the holiday homework on 5 th July, 2018. English Book Reviews- Two book reviews to be written, in about 200-250 words, from the given list of books/ series (recommended reading list attached). Some suggestions for writing the book reviews - The review could have: The name of the book along with that of the author, the illustrator and the publisher. The setting of the story could also be included e.g. Matilda - This story is about a girl with an unusual power who lived in England. Brief summary of the story What you liked and disliked about the story, or the characters in it, giving reasons. Anything in the story that touched you or you found interesting/funny/exciting/scary. You could compare the present story with a similar story you may have read earlier, and can comment on the way the story ended and how you felt in the end. Presentation of homework: To be done on A-4 sized sheets. The sheets must be put in a folder. The cover page of the folder to have the name, class & section of the child and colorful illustrations drawn by the child. Social Studies Compulsory Take political maps of the continents ASIA and EUROPE (maps attached) Learn the location of all the countries in each of these continents and mark them on the respective maps. Also mark the major water bodies surrounding the continents. Paste each map on an A-4 size sheet Put the sheets in a folder with your name, class and section written clearly on the cover page of the folder. Do any one out of A and B. (A) In case you go outside Delhi and visit other places during the holidays, prepare a travelogue giving an account of your trip or journey. The travelogue should include the following details: Names of places visited/destinations along with travel dates (Travel tickets to be pasted) People you travelled with A small paragraph describing the geographical aspect of the place(s) visited. Also what the place is famous for. Show the location of the place(s) on a relevant map. Write about the interesting spots you visited during your stay, the cuisine, activities you enjoyed over there and so on. Paste pictures to make your presentation attractive Present your work in a folder with A-4 size sheets. Make sure to paste your travel tickets and a map with the places located clearly. You can also paste photographs and drawings to make your presentation interesting. (B) Prepare an interesting slide show (Power Point) on any one country of your choice from the given continents. Your slide show could focus on the geography, history or any other aspect that interests you. Your presentation should not be more than 5 minutes long. Share the slide show with your classmates once the school reopens. *Best presentation will be shown in the assembly.
