Acting Techniques are explored through warm-ups and theater games. Plays at this level have more plot points and dramatic elements than Level 1. Each week scenes are added and rehearsed. Students will present their original plays for family and friends on the last day! Costume Design WORKSHOP Grades 3 and up Monday - Friday 4:30-6:00 p.m. February 13-17 Work with DCT s own Lyle Huchton as he leads a handson costume design workshop. This workshop will take inspiration from our Shows of the 2016-2017 Season of Plays. Students will be invited to design and create a costume for a character from a DCT show. Design students might make a costume for a creature from the world of Dr. Seuss (Seussical), a Peanuts character (A Charlie Brown Christmas), an otherworldly creature of the night (Dracula), or an amazing Insect (James and the Giant Peach). Or our design students may choose another character from the fantastic world of DCT to bring to life in this totally creative costume design workshop. Through lecture and interactive exercises students will learn how to discover, decipher and begin to apply subtext as part of their own process of script analysis and performance development.
