Rich boys from the upper class, whom the Royal Advisor has selected to marry to Snow White or the Queen, so their money can save the kingdom. A mining community all female. One to be played by a male actor. Adults and children, playing townsfolk, villagers and servants. Some with lines. Younger children. The star of any panto. Dances a little. Roles will be allocated by the end May. All principles will have a script during the summer so that you can start to learn lines and explore your characters. Note that those with smaller roles may be asked to participate in other scenes. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from mid August to December If cast, you would be expected to rehearse up to two evenings a week. From early November until opening night, you may have to rehearse two or three times a week including some weekends. Please notify the production team as early as possible of any dates in late August, September, October & November when you would be unable to rehearse? Mid November/ December attendance is mandatory. To be in the Panto as a performer or a listed member of the production team you must be a member of the BEPG (See below). The Panto will be at the Scala, Basel Theatre on these dates in December. Tuesday 2 nd evening, Dress Rehearsal, Thursday 4 th,friday 5 th evening Saturday 6 th, Sunday 7 th afternoon and evening. You will also be needed on the weekend of 29 th and 30 th November at the theatre, possibly all day and into the evening. Please note that being in the Panto requires considerable commitment. We ask all cast members to ensure that they are not involved in other productions from August until December. During November, you may be required every Tuesday and Thursday and the weekends 15/16 and 22/23. Please do not book any holiday or time away during this period! For under 18s, agreement to these dates from your parents/guardians is required. For the younger cast members (under 13s), parental involvement, in some capacity, will usually be necessary. While we are an amateur group, and want everyone involved to have fun, we attempt to be as professional as possible. To this end it is important to recognise that we are not a youth club! BEPG Information. 1) The BEPG is a properly constituted Verein under Basel laws, run by committee. This was brought into being on the 26 th June 2009. 2) We have an AGM that is held sometime in March just before the end of the BEPG year. (1 st April to 31 st March).If you would like to serve on the Committee, if you have suggestions for the Committee about BEPG or other comments to make then please come along. All committee members are up for election every year. 3) As a Verein we now have to charge membership fees. These are: Family Membership: chf 50.00. Individual Membership: chf 30.00. Student Membership: chf 20:00 (Under 18yrs. old) To be in the show as a performer or a listed member of the production team you have to be a member of the BEPG Verein. This is to fulfil the conditions of the Verein and also to arrange insurance for the players and backstage helpers. Non-members can not vote at the AGM. Please note that if you have not paid a membership fee, you are not covered by the Verein insurance.
