Product Review LAVA-HD 8000, HDTV over the antenna: A. J. Feldman 30 November 2015 As promised I purchased the antenna that spoke about at a previous HOA Board Meeting. The total price of the antenna delivered to the house was $79.00 out of the box. I mounted the antenna inside of my garage on the west facing wall then fed the cable in the ceiling to the distribution amplifier that feeds the 8 TV outlets in my house. The set up tie took less than an hour and that really depends on the model of house and where it is within Highgate, The actual time to install is subject to some experimentation using a qualified technician and where the house is physically located within Highgate. Many of these channels are entirely unknown to me; I have not seen these before as up to now I have been a Brighthouse cable customer and was lead to believe that there were very few over the air TV channels available to this area. Most of these, to me, are irrelevant. However, the common channels NBC, CBS, Fox and ABC have great signals and the picture quality is much better that the signals received over the cable network. This was a worthy experiment. Another comment, being used to cable service, no, you don t receive CNN, MSNBC, or News 13, these are cable only news channels. I was able to watch the evening news starting at $PM right on through to 7:30 PM. Also some of the PBS channels (PBS Create and PBS World) that will not be provided by OpticalTel can still be received on selected TVs.
