1 Instruction Sheet for the Webb Air Potato ver1_0.doc Instructions for the Webb Air Potato Air Potato Part A controls and powers the 2 SL Cameras. When connected with Part B, the potato will also put the EZ system in record from the SL. The Person at the EZ camera just needs to follow the action using the zoom, pan and tilt. Air Potato Part B connects between the control cable and the control device for the EZ system. 1. 3. Connecting Air Potato Part A for shooting the Sideline (2 ANGLES) 1. Assemble the Sony tripod according to the Tripod instructions included with the Tripod 2. Mount the Dual Stack Bar to the Sony Tripod 3. Attach the Upper and Lower Camcorder to the Dual Stack Bar with the Velcro supplied 4. Attach the Air Potato Part A to the Dual Stack Bar 5. From the Tripod connect the Cable labeled Camera to the Lower Camera in the Dual Stack Bar. The Cable will have a male Half Moon LANC connection to connect directly to that camera s AV port. This Camera will have Zoom and Record capability from the Tripod Arm. 6. From the Tripod connect the 2.5mm male ended cable labeled Potato to the Female 2.5mm Cable on the Air Potato Part A. 7. From the Air Potato Part A connect the cable labeled Camera to the upper camera on the dual stack bar. The Cable will have a male Half Moon LANC connection to connect directly to that camera. This Camera will Record only capability from the Tripod Arm. 8. Connect the Power Cables from the Air Potato to the Power inputs on the Cameras on the Dual Stack Bar. Please Note: The Power from the Air Potato Part A will only provide power to the Cameras. It will not charge the Batteries that may be attached to the cameras. 9. Connect the Main Power Cable from the Air Potato to an external 120 volt Power source. 4

5 4. Light indicators on the Air Potato Part A The Air Potato Part A has LED indicators on the unit to give you the status of those attached units. The Air Potato Part A has descriptions printed on Part A as to what those LED colors Mean. There are indicators for Camera 1, Camera 2, and Camera 3. 5. Air Potato Indicator Lights and Meanings: Red Solid- Camera is in record Red Flashing- Camera is in Pause No Light- Camera is not connected Green Solid- Camera is connected only Amber- There is a connection, but an issue with the connection. It could indicate a non compatible device connected to the Air Potato. 6. Air Potato Part B for Recording Video from EZ Camera The Air Potato Part B is a receiver that works with the Air Potato Part A. The Transmitter in Air Potato Part A sends a signal to put Air Potato Part B into record when connected to your EZ Camera. The Air Potato Part B must be connected to your EZ Camera and must have power to work properly. When the Receiver is powered on, the transmitter on Part A will make 4 quick beeps in succession to indicate that the Receiver is recognized by the transmitter. 7. 6 1. Connect the Air Potato Part B Power at the Bottom of the unit to the Air Potato Part B connection Cable labeled Part B. This is a screw in connection. Connect the female cable labeled EZ.Camera from the Air Potato Part B to the Male cable going to the EZ Camera 3. Connect the male cable labeled Zoom.com from Air Potato Part B to the input on the Zoom Commander 9. Connecting the Air Potato Part B to the EVS EZ System 1. 7 3. Connect the male cable labeled Zoom.com from Air Potato Part B to the input on the Zoom Commander 10. Connecting the Air Potato Part B to the HIPOD EZ System 1. Connect the female cable labeled EZ.Camera from the Air Potato Part B to the Male cable going to the EZ Camera, using the Male 2.5mm to Male XLR Cable converter. Connect the male cable labeled Zoom.com from Air Potato Part B to the input on the Zoom Commander, using the Female 2.5 Inch to Female XLR Cable converter. 11. Air Potato Part B Indicator Lights and Meanings: Red Solid- Camera is in record Red Flashing- Camera is in Pause No Light- Camera is not connected Green Solid- Camera is connected only Amber- There is a connection, but an issue with the connection. It could indicate a non compatible device connected to the Air Potato. 12. Common Troublehooting One of my sideline cameras will not go into record- Check to make sure that all cables going to the different devices are making a firm connection My EZ camera will not go into record- The most common issue is that the receiver is not getting power. Make sure you have the power connected to the receiver or you will not be able to use the Air Potato to put the Endzone into record You are not getting the beeps when you first power on the air potato. Check power at the receiver, Make sure your battery is charged beyond 6 volts Not recording when you press the button on the tripod. Check all of the connections, Make sure you are getting power Did you hear the beeps when the air potato was powered on? Make sure the battery is charged 13.
