V. PREPARED PECE Perform from memory a piece from the Late Elementary to Advanced ntermediate level. You must gain prior approval of your piece from the Class Piano instructor. See attached sample repertoire. Your performance must reflect musicianship and demonstrate pianistic skill. V. RULES Proficiency Exams ill be administered four times per year, on set dates at the beginning and end of Fall and Spring semesters. You must sign up for the exam in advance of taking it. Signup sheets ill be posted on the Keyboard Studies bulletin board outside room M. f you cancel your exam appointment, you must do so at least hours in advance by emailing the Class Piano instructor. f you do not cancel your appointment appropriately, you ill receive a nonpass for the exam and ill need to sign up for the next Class Piano course. The exam shall not exceed minutes. f you do not feel prepared to complete your exam ithin this time limit, please refrain from signing up for an exam spot. Keyboard faculty cannot give assistance during the exam procedure; you must be prepared in advance ith all components of the exam prior to taking it. Students must pass the entire exam in order to be exempt from taking Class Piano. Any component of the exam not passed may be tested again during the semester of Class Piano enrollment, and at the discretion of the Class Piano instructor. f the component is passed, the student can receive his or her course grade and be exempt from attending the rest of the class during that semester. Students must be enrolled in Class Piano courses until they have successfully passed the entire Piano Proficiency Exam.
