Vincenzo Terenzio Prize International Music Competition Art. 1 - Competition rules Prize is open to musicians of both sexes of Italian and foreign nationality. Art. 2 - Sections, Categories and duration of tests Sections Section I: Soloists Piano, Strings, Guitar, Composition, Winds, Percussion, Jazz Lyrical singers Pop, jazz or light singers Section II: Ensemble Four-hand piano Chamber music: Ensamble, Chamber orchestra, Winds, Strings,... Jazz Professional and amateur choirs Musical performance with orchestra * (Auditions and the final stages will be held on 21 th and 22 th April 2018) Section III: Pre-Academics Categories Cat. Section I - Soloists Enfant prodige: Applicants born on or after 1 st January 2010. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 3 min. Category Enfant prodige A - Applicants born on or after 1 st January 2008. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 5 min. Category B Applicants born on or after 1 st January 2006. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 7 minutes. Category C - Applicants born on or after 1 st January 2004. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 9 min. Category D - Applicants born on or after 1 st January 2002. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 11 min. Category E - Applicants born on or after 1 st January 1999. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 13 min. Category F - Applicants born on or after 1 st January 1995.

Category H Composers: without age limits. (Eventual hearing, not mandatory, lasting up to 20 minutes) Cat. Category B- Chamber Music: Applicants born on or after 1 st January 1999. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 9 min. Category C - Chamber Music: Applicants born on or after 1 st January 1994. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 11 min. Category D - Chamber Music: Applicants born on or after 1 st January 1989. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 13 min. Category E Chamber Music: Without age limits. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 15 min. Cat. Section III - Pre-Academics and Academics Pre-Academics Category A with A Certification not achieved. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 5 min. Category B with B Certification not achieved. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 10 min. Category C 1 st Academic level not achieved. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 15 min. Category D - 2 nd Academic level not achieved. A free choice programme not exceeding the max duration of 20 min. Art. 3 - Period All the rehearsals and the final Concert will take place in Cerignola City from 6 th to 8 th December 2017 For categories with orchestra all the rehearsals and the final Concert will be held in April 2018. Art. 4 - Auditions and evaluations Auditions and evaluations of the works in competition will take place in accordance with this provisional schedule: from 6 th to 8 th December 2017. The Absolute Winner for each Category is the competitor who gained the highest score, but not less than 98/100.First Prizes are the competitors who gained a score not lower than 95/100; Second Prizes not lower than 90/100: Thirds not lower than 85/100; Merit Diplomas not lower than 80/100; Participation Diplomas not lower than 60/100. The absolute winners must play gratis during the Final Concert; if they will not do that they will lose the Prizes. The competitors can t make any economic claim for any audio and/or video recordings made during the Competition and the Final concert. These recordings will be exclusive property of the Ars Nova Association for any utilization. During the Competition nobody can make video or tape recordings or make photos without Ars Nova Association authorization. The First Absolute Prize is indivisible. Each prize will have the deduction at source.
All those who are born, or resident, in the Municipality of Cerignola, are going to participate to the Prize of the Public. They will be judged by a popular jury constituted by the Honorary Committee. They will also reach the final stage, with a score of not less than 95/100, The final will be preceded by a lecture and presentation of brochure and videos on Vincenzo Terenzio at 7.30 pm and from a ceremony of all applicants at 19.00 All the scheduled rehearsals will be announced in real time on Sunday, 4 th December 2017 by the websites of the contest and of Ars Nova Association, as well as by social networks. Applicants will be admitted to the tests in alphabetical order. All trials will be public. Applicants are required to inquire about the day and time of their hearing by consulting the website of the Prize at www.premioterenzio.it, at the organizing Secretary s Office of the Cultural Artistic Association "Ars Nova", by visiting the Prize facebook page or our website at www.arsnovacademy.it. Applicants will have to appear half an hour before their hearing for the appeal. Delayers may only be admitted to the Jury before the end of the minutes relating to their category. Before your hearing, applicants will have to provide the Jury with an ID and 3 copies of the tracks to be played. * (The registration form will be filled from 15 th December 2017 on the prize website www.premioterenzio.it. The final stage will be held in April 2018). For the categories with orchestra the date will be announced later. Article 5 - Jury President of the Jury: M Michele Marvulli (Conductor, Composer, Piano soloist, Piano teacher at Various Italian Conservatives). Musicians of considerable experience will make up the Jury* will be made up of teachers and distinguished personalities. From 2 th December, the names of all members of the Jury will be announced. Guarantors who have already been available: Carlo Gallo, Director of Music Art Management srl, a company that organizes events and shows, an expert in the production and artistic direction of musical events. We apply the Ministerial Law n. 2 (August 11th 1989) about the incompatible rules for the Jury. The Jury will make a secret centesimal voting, with arithmetic mean, except highest and lowest scores. The President can round up or down the results. * (Orchestral categories Jury will be notified by April 2018 on the prize website www.premioterenzio.it Please note that for these categories the audition and the final categories will take place in April 2018). Art. 6 - Prizes "Vincenzo Terenzio" Prize - For the Absolute winner, over 18 th, among all the finalists, with a vote of at least 98/100 : 500,00, a concert during the Ars Nova 2017/2018 concert season and the diploma of 1 st Absolute Prize; Terenzio Junior Prize - For the Absolute winner, not older than 18 th, among all the finalists, with a vote of at least 98/100: 200,00, a concert during the Ars Nova 2017/2018 concert season 1 st Absolute Prize; "Romantic" Prize for the best romantic performance, without limits of category: 200,00, a concert during the Ars Nova 2017/2018 concert season, a 1 st Aid Award; Contemporary Prize for the Best Composition: 200,00 and 1 st Absolute Prize;
"Light music" award to the best jazz musician or pop singer, jazz, light music: 200,00, with participation in important events organized with national broadcasters. Public Prize, awarded by a popular jury made up of the Honorary Committee issued to the best competitor born or resident in Cerignola City, provided that he has made a vote of not less than 95 / 100: 200,00, a concert in the Ars Nova 2017/2018 concert season, a First Aid Award; Diploma and certificate of first, second and third graded; All competitors with a score of less than 80/100 will receive a Diploma indicating the score upon request. The top ranked for each Category are applicants who have scored a score of at least 95/100. Seconds are applicants with a score of not less than 90/100; Ranked Thirds are applicants with a score of not less than 80/100; The list of concerts awarded to the winners will be published, on the date of the competition, on the website Prize and on our website. Art. 7 - Registration fees Section I and Section II - Registration Fees: Cat. E.P. - E.P. A - B - C: 40,00 Euro Cat. D - E: 50,00 Euro Cat. F - G - H: 60,00 Euro Duo - Trio Cat. Chamber Music A - B - C - D - E: 80,00 Euro Ensemble (Cat. Chamber music A - B - C - D - E) 120,00 Euros from 4 up to 6 components, 160,00 Euro from seven to 12 components, 200,00 Euro up to 20 items if over 20 items 10.00 euro per person. In the case of duo-ensembles, it is necessary to make a single payment equal to the total amount due to be calculated, taking into account the subscription costs per component mentioned above. Soloists can enjoy their own piano accompanist, for which no participation fee is expected. The soloists, who need the Competition Piano accompanist, must send with the Application Form an additional fee of 40 Euros and a copy of the scores they will play. Terms of payment: (Failure to pay the registration fee automatically excludes the candidate from the participation). For the categories with orchestra the date will be announced later. The competitor will declare that he has paid on / / 2017 and must indicate the details of the payment made: Bank C/C and, if applicable, the CRO code of the wire transfer: Cash at the Competition Secretary Office not later than Sunday, December 4. Art. 8 - Application form The application form can be filled in on a form prepared by or on behalf of the Organization. Participants can request the form by sending a special email to the following address: iscrizioni@arsnovacademy.it. The form can be also downloaded from: - the website www.premioterenzio.it - the facebook page: Premio Musicale Terenzio. - The application, together with an attestation of payment of the registration fee, must be sent by e-mail or delivered to the Competition Secretary office no later than 6 th December 2017. Art. 9 - Common rules The candidates can enrol in an older Category and they can participate to more Sections in this Competition, but not to more Categories in the same Section. The maximum duration established for each category does not require contestants to reach it, but shall provide the Jury to stop the performance if exceed the limit. In any case the Jury can stop or can ask a repetition of the performance if it will be necessary. No memory execution is required. For Section II (Duo - Ensemble) will be considered the average age of the group members. The jury's final judgment will in any case be non-appealable. The winners of Absolute First Prizes will be rewarded exclusively during the closing night of the Contest, which will be held on 8 th December 2017, with the penalty being canceled; other prizes may be collected at the secretary of the competition during the course of the competition. The winners of the first absolute prizes and any other prizes at the discretion of the Competition Jury will have to perform for free in a gala dress in the Final Concert. Art. 10 - Final Rules The organization only offers the piano to its applicants: candidates will need to have all the tools and accessories they need to test. Applicants from the singers category will have to present, if necessary at the end of the test, with musical background on audio CD or their own accompaniment tool. If you will enrol yourself to the Competition, you must accept all these Rules. The organization of the competition does not take any responsibility for any risks or damages of any nature to persons or things during the Competition. Applicants authorize the distribution of photographic, radio, television and record recordings of the Competition. Participants will not be able to make any claims or financial claims against the organization or broadcasting entity. If you do not intend to authorize the dissemination, you must be explicitly required when signing up. Art. 11 - Privacy According to art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196/03, the data provided on registration will be retained by the "Ars Nova APS" assistance and used exclusively for the sending of information concerning the Association. The holder has the right to delete and rectify his or her data or to oppose its use. Art. 12 - Jurisdiction In any case of controversy the Italian text is valid and the Trani Court is competent.
