(far from you) near far Singular this that Plural these those Remember: Do not combine demonstrative pronouns with demonstrative adjectives. They are the same, yet a demonstrative pronoun stands by itself, while a demonstrative adjective qualifies a noun. Examples: That is a book. (Demonstrative pronoun) That book is hers. (Demonstrative adjective) We can also use demonstrative pronouns for identifying people. Ex: This is Maria. Is that your cousin?
