Mail CD's or DVD's for Reviews To: Country Entertainment USA, P.O. Box 100985, Nashville, TN. 37224 Lee Anna McGuire Secrets www.leeannamcguire.com The secret is out with Lee Anna McGuire s CD, Secrets - she is a star on the horizon. Her self-penned tunes are fresh and enchanting and her sensitive and emotional vocal delivery brings each song to life. From the opening cut, If You Were Me And I Were You to the final The Day No One Else Could See, there is a feeling of contentment in her own unique style which is infused with everything from pop to country. The Roys The View www.theroysonline.com The brother/sister duo, The Roys latest bluegrass CD, The View is filled with songs written and/or co-written by Elaine and Lee. Also wearing the producer hat, they blend their family harmonies and production perfectly with their lead vocals. Mandolin Man (where they are joined by the legendary Doyle Lawson), Live the Life You Love and Mended Wings are songs of particular interest. John Penney Gone But Not Forgotten www.johnpenneymusic.com John Penney s current CD, Gone But Not Forgotten is a Christian Country jewel with John writing all eight songs. His personal connection to each song is felt in his faith-filled vocal delivery and the well-done country production compliments his vocals effectively. The stand-out tunes on this project are Ballerina Princess and WWJD - Good Nuff For Me. PG 5

Joining Frizzell for this impressive 21-track collection are six country music icons: Grand Ladies of Country Music singer, Helen Cornelius; GMA (Gospel Music Association) and CMA (Country Music Association) Hall of Famer Jimmy Fortune; CMA award winner T. Graham Brown; a member of multiple Halls of Fame, multi-award winning singer/songwriter Sonny Curtis; and the legendary, Grammy award winner Merle Haggard. Incidentally, this project is concurrent with the 50th year milestone in country music for Haggard. Country Music legend David Frizzell, along with The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of a special musical collection, The Buddy Holly Country Tribute: Remember Me. The indelible legacy of Buddy Holly continues to touch fans and has inspired decades of artists across multiple genres. Although he only played rock and roll for a few years, the breadth of material Holly recorded made an enormous, lasting impression on popular music. In recent years, Holly has been honored with a six-disc career retrospective, a pair of best-selling tribute albums, and two Grammy nominations for works inspired or created by the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Now, Country Music star David Frizzell has gathered a cadre of music s elite for a very special homage to Buddy Holly with The Buddy Holly Country Tribute: Remember Me, set for release on Sept. 7, 2014, (on what would have been Holly s 78th birthday). The musical collection includes a DVD on the making of the project. The album is a benefit for the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation, a charitable organization focused on musical education and co-founded by Buddy s widow, Maria Elena Holly. While Buddy has been cited as the single most influential creative force in early Rock and Roll, his roots and earliest influences were bluegrass and country music with artists like Hank Snow and Lefty Frizzell. One of the first songs that Buddy learned from his older brothers, although he never recorded it, was Scott Wiseman s Remember Me. Merle starts off this great tribute with his version of Remember Me. Photos by Gordy Collins, Frizzell Productions The tribute album is narrated by David Frizzell, who introduces each song and its comments on its significance to Buddy, his career and his remarkably lasting legacy. Two songs in the collection have a unique backstory. At the request of the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation, David Frizzell wrote Maria Elena for Buddy Holly s widow, Maria Elena Holly, as a gift for her 80th birthday. Walk Right Back was written by Sonny Curtis and made a hit by The Everly Brothers. Phil Everly was a close, personal friend of Buddy and Maria Elena. It was hoped that Phil would be a part of this special collection, but the artist passed away during the making of the project. This song is included as a tribute to the friendship Phil Everly shared with Buddy and Maria Elena Holly. PG 6

Feelings I don t know how to feel anymore, I m so confused Times have changed rapidly since my youth Friends grow older and then grow apart Boys kiss and tell and then break your heart Families will split and then fuss and feud Many years may pass by as they stew and brood Promises get broken and secrets are spilled Broken hearts remain scarred, but never fully heal How can I feel anything in a world so divided This envious atmosphere has became so one-sided Seeking answers in The Bible which most have now cast aside Laws are pushing out religion, it doesn t fit within our times The laws of our God seem to no longer apply When they offend people who don t see eye to eye No more soft words, smiles, hugs, or blessings Modern technology leaves it all to twitter and texting I don t understand feelings in this new electronic age It came up so quickly and took off in a rage I was brought up with communication, one on one We shared, we laughed, and emoting was fun A hug when we hurt, or kind words were shared Tears wiped away by someone who cared A Bible verse to strengthen our faith each day Life as I knew it has been swept away Thank God for the handful of people out there Who still find the time to open up and share To pen out a letter, or pick up a phone and call or drop by for a visit, or meet at the mall That human connection that God created us for I think it s called love, but I m not sure anymore Emoticons have replaced revealing our feelings inside Words no longer exchanged, as the spoken word has died.
