History- The Romans Can they plot recent history on a timeline using centuries? Can they place periods of history on a timeline showing periods of time? Can they use their mathematical skills to round up timedifferences into centuries and decades? Can they explain how events from the past has helped shape our lives? Do they appreciate that wars have happened from a very long time ago and it is often associated with invasion, conquering or religious differences? Do they know that people who lived in the past cooked and travelled differently and used different weapons Yes Visit to Binchester to learn more about the Romans. Binchester trip- recount follow up. Choose photos to talk about- explain what they were doing and what they leant about the Romans. Boudicca- pp showing who were the Celts and who was Boudicca. Look at events from both points of view. Write as if Boudicca retelling what happened. What did the Romans bring to Britain- children research what they introduced and left behind. Class Assembly.
