MISSION The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. The Wine + Spirits Industry s Gala, benefitting the American Cancer Society, is a formal gala attended by more than 250 senior executives of the Wine + Spirits Industry. The evening includes an elegant cocktail reception featuring wines and spirits generously donated by the sponsors, dinner, and a live auction. The event honors a notable leader in the industry who shares a passion for giving back to the community. This year, we are pleased to be honoring Deirdre Mahlan, President. North America, Diageo PLC. In its 39 th year, the Wine + Spirits Industry s Gala is a mainstay event that has raised more than $15.5 million to support the Society s mission of eliminating cancer as a major health problem.
