A SOLID FOUNDATION nisations who help to keep its classes and courses at the cheapest possible level. The course offers a solid foundation in stagecraft at Industry Standard, but also helps build self-confidence as a by-product of the modules. All classes take place at our community theatre in Islington, home to over 650 young actors who attend classes in the evenings and weekends. Come along five mornings per week for 36 weeks for an inspiring and substantial 36 weeks of professional education and training. Artistic Director - Andrew Harries Since 1972, in one form or another, we have been running after-school and weekend classes. Therefore, it was a natural fit to introduce a foundation course, in-line with the YATI ethos of inclusive, professional and creative teaching. Our students tell us, that our course, now in its second year, offers one of the most affordable and high quality programmes available, and we believe them. Our part-time foundation course is aimed primarily at 18-24 year olds for whom training full time would be unaffordable. YATI believes, that the arts can benefit everyone, and that money should not be a barrier to participation and training. YATI is supported by like-minded individuals and orga- Andy Serkis, internationally renowned actor and director, orginally trained at the theatre as a young man, he is now the President of YATI. Andy Serkis was influential in the development of the Foundation Course. There s still a huge gulf between people who can afford to go to drama school and those who can t. We help address the need for affordable drama training in London and provide a realistic view of what it s like to start out and develop a career in the industry.
