Unbound is sponsored by ArtisTree Art Gallery in conjunction with the Bookstock Literary Festival. Open to all 2D and 3D, installation, and assemblage artists working in New England and New York. Deadline for submissions: Entries must be e-mailed OR dropped off to ArtisTree Gallery by June 29th at 6 pm. ArtisTree Gallery Exhibition Dates: Friday, July 27 to August 25, 2018. SHOW DETAILS UNBOUND~VOL VIII: An exhibit of what books can be... The 8th annual juried exhibit of Book Art by artists working in New England or New York, opens in tandem with Bookstock, The Green Mountain Festival of Words, on Friday, July 27 th at 5:30. Visitors will have an opportunity to examine curious folios, recent grimoires, tomes turned to sculpture and some works having a relation to books in concept only. The theme of the show is simple, art using books as a material or a format. Art lovers and bibliophiles alike can expect to be intrigued, and maybe inspired, by the work found on exhibit this summer in Unbound, Vol. VIII. Presented at ArtisTree Gallery in partnership with Pentangle Arts. JURY FEE: $30 for up to 3 pieces and up to 3 images per piece. ELIGIBILITY: This call for submissions is open to all New England and New York residents who are 18 years of age or older. This is a juried exhibition for artists working in all traditional and non-traditional 2D (wall mounted) and 3D media, installation, video, and assemblage. All artwork must be original in concept, design and execution. Note: reproductions, if used as mixed media, will be considered. Artists understand that in submitting the fee and their work that ArtisTree/ Bookstock shall not be insuring their accepted work when their work is in transit (delivered to and from), when delivered, and when at ArtisTree Gallery and thus artists may obtain their own insurance for any loss whatsoever. Installations are welcome at the discretion of ArtisTree, but must meet all other specifications and be delivered, installed and

removed by the artist (or their approved agent) and picked-up by the artist upon arrangement with ArtisTree staff. JUDGING: Final judging will be on-site. Entries that differ significantly from their digital images may be rejected. Decisions of the juror are final. ENTRY PROCEDURE: All submissions must be made through our online entry form available on the ArtisTree website. artistreevt.org/unbound-entry.html Images may be uploaded through that entry form, as well. By appointment, actual work may be dropped off at the gallery for consideration but these must also have had an online entry form completed prior to delivery. An entry fee of $30 may be paid by credit card using the paypal button at the above web page, as well. (you do not need to have a paypal account) Digital Images. You may submit up to 3 images per entry. The images must use RGB color model (NOT CMYK) 100 dpi resolution 1.5 MB file size max. JPG file type File names should be saved in the format: LastName_Entry#_Title_Image#.jpg The entry # and image # should reflect your entry form Online submissions must be made no later than 6pm June 29, 2018

Drop off submissions- For those leaving actual artwork for consideration, an appointment should be made with the gallery 802-457-3500 or at gallery@artistreevt.org. Please make sure an entry label (containing your name, title and email) is affixed to the back of each piece Drop off submissions must arrive by 6PM on June 29th. Checklist Have you: Completed the online entry form Or, dropped off work to the gallery by 6PM on June 29, 2018? Submitted your labeled jpegs (your name, entry # title, image#) - up to 3 pieces may be submitted (3 images per piece) Paid your fee? All entry fees are non-refundable. ACCEPTED WORK A list of accepted work will be emailed following the jurying process. A date will be announced. REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTED WORK: Where appropriate and at the discretion of ArtisTree, no clip frames, or taped edges. If using canvases, they must have neat gallery wrapped edges. Wall hung work must be wired and ready for hanging. All fastenings and other materials used for ceiling mounts or special assemblage and installation requirements MUST be supplied by

artist or be installed by artist and only with prior agreement with ArtisTree before the assemblage or installation takes place. Artists whose 3D work has been accepted may inquire about providing their own pedestals, or must agree to use displays provided by ArtisTree. An ARTWORK LABEL must be affixed to the back of each accepted work indicating which end is the top and includes the following: Artist Name, Title, email. No artwork may be substituted. Work cannot be withdrawn, nor sales shipped, before the end of the exhibit. DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK: DROP OFFS: Work can be hand delivered and unpacked by artist at ArtisTree Art Gallery, 2095 Pomfret Rd., South Pomfret, VT, 05067 by appointment with ArtisTree. All artwork must be delivered by July 20, 2018. SHIPPED ARTWORK must be delivered by July 20, 2018 to ArtisTree Art Gallery, 2095 Pomfret Rd., South Pomfret, VT, 05067 ALL SHIPPED WORK MUST CONTAIN A RETURN PRE-PAID SELF ADDRESSED RETURN LABEL via UPS, FED/EX or US MAIL - along with all re-packing materials. The artist shall assume all responsibility for insuring artwork against shipping damage or loss of whatever kind. LATE ARRIVAL AND RETURNS: ArtisTree reserves the right to reject and return work that is late, is deemed unstable upon arrival, is not properly presented, or differs from the submitted digital image. Returns will be solely at the artist s expense.

Commission: ArtisTree will retain a 30% commission on all exhibition sales. REMOVAL: For hand-delivered artwork, arrangements must be made with the gallery for these hand-delivered works to be picked up by the artist after August 25. LIABILITY: ArtisTree and Bookstock, their affliates, board of directors, agents and employees are not responsible for any loss, damage, breakage, replacement or cost associated with any artist s work which has been damaged or has incurred breakage during transport or unpacking or while the work is at ArisTree Gallery. Every precaution will be taken in handling the entries, but each of the above entity/persons assumes no liability for any loss or damage to any artist s work while in our care, custody or control, before, during or after the exhibition. Each artist, if they wish, needs to provide their own insurance. USE OF IMAGES: ArtisTree reserves the right to use any image of submitted work may be used for marketing and promotional purposes. This use may include publication in any online publications, printed materials, advertisements, or electronic media. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.
