Teacher Directions and Ideas: Every month my students read a different genre of book and complete a creative book report that they present to the class as part of their Language Arts grade. It s time to be creative! This Book Report product includes: *Unrealistic Fiction Vocabulary Poster *Student/Parent directions for this Book Report *Character Star Template and directions *Character Star Organizer *Grading Rubric *List of Suggested Unrealistic Fiction Books Happy Reading!

Unrealistic Fiction A story that could not happen in the real world such as stories with wizards, ghosts, talking animals and superheroes.

Unrealistic Fiction Book Report Genre: Unrealistic fiction Definition: A story that could not happen in the real world. (Think: ghost, wizards, superheroes, talking animals, and other worlds.) Type of report: Book character dress up and character star book report form. It s time to be creative! For the Unrealistic Fiction Book Report, you will be dressing up as the book character of your choice. Pick an unrealistic fiction book from home or select one from the school library. Then start reading! After reading your book, you will become the main character to present your report. There is no need to go out and buy a costume. Be creative and see what you can find around the house. Use any art supplies you have, and look through your closets to see what you might be able to use. After deciding on your costume, you will make a character star using the template on the next pages. Please recreate the character star on a poster. You will complete each point of the star as shown, using your Character Star Organizer. The character stars will be presented to the class while you are dressed up as a character from the book. Be a Character Star!

Design a Character Star Directions: Recreate this Character Star on a poster. Fill out each point of the star with the correct information from your Character Star Organizer as shown on the next page. Add the name and picture of the main character in the center of the star.
