See how far it goes and measure the distance. Collect coins over the summer then sort and total the amount. Play a game that requires keeping score like bowling or miniature golf. Cook with an adult using measuring cups and spoons. Talk about fractions. Read a book in a series. Download a book from our e-book library. Ask the librarian to help. Read a book that was made into a movie. Read a kid s magazine at the library Check out a movie soundtrack from the library. Ask the librarian what his or her favorite song is. Play the Hum that Tune game & see who can guess the tune. Ask a librarian to show you what kind of music you can get on the Hoopla app. Go to a park and play. Take a bird book on an early bird walk to identify the birds you see. Run in the yard: kickball, whiffle ball, Frisbee and tag will keep you going. Play hopscotch. Use chalk to make a board. Jump rope and chant jump rope rhymes. Make s mores. Chocolate + marshmallow + graham cracker = summer. Have a family film night. Check out a library DVD. Host a watermelon seed spitting contest and then read a book about fruits. Get wet. Play outside in the rain or have fun with the hose. Play a game that requires you to add dice or count play money. Slice a pizza or pie and talk about fractions. Check out a book about Math or a mathematician. Weigh yourself and family members from heaviest to lightest. Read a book and draw your own illustrations on a separate piece of paper. Try and recreate a famous painting. Draw a new cover for your favorite book. Sketch or draw outdoors. Take a stroll in your neighborhood. Stop and talk with your neighbors. Clean out your closet and your toy box and think about donating any unused items. Watch new construction in your community from a safe distance & read a book about construction. Check out a book on Science experiments & do one. Draw your own robot and write what it can do.
