Comm Phase dimmers with automatic load detecti, leading-edge or trailing-edge. Ctrolled via switches ( and corridorfuctio) or a DAI/DSI signal. Total cnected load: 1 300 VA 2.1 Area of applicati Digital phase dimmers enable low-voltage tungsten-halogen lamps, in cjuncti with electric or magnetic transformers, and ohmic light sources (incandescent lamps) with a total output of 1 to 300 VA to be dimmed. Ctrol is either via a DAI/DSI signal or directly cnected switches ( and corridorfuctio). The digital phase dimmer is compatible with ED retrofit lamps. Because of the variety of different ED Retrofit lamps it is recommended to test the operati before installati. V halogen ED retrofit lamps that are operated by an electric or magnetic transformer are also compatible. 3. Installati 3.1 Wiring 220 240 V AC 50 / 60 Hz corridorfuctio Incandescent lamps, ED retrofit lamps corridorfuctio V tungstenhalogen lamps, ED retrofit lamps electric transformator corridorfuctio V tungstenhalogen lamps, ED retrofit lamps magnetic transformator DAI PCD 1-300 DAI PCD 1-300 DAI PCD 1-300 DAI/DSI Mixed loads (capacitative, inductive and ohmic) may be used. 1) 1) Different loads require different ctrol signals by the dimmer. If various loads are operated simultaneously at the dimmer, e.g. electric transformers, magnetic transformers, ED retrofit lamps, etc., the dimming signal will focus the most dominant load. As a result, the other loads may be operated by wrg ctrol signals, which will result in improper dimming. In this case, a decrease in the service life of the loads installed cannot be excluded either. It is therefore recommended to avoid ctrolling different loads simultaneously by the same dimmer. Informati minimum dimming level The PCD 1-300 supports in general a min. dimming level of 1 % for DSI and 0.1 % for DAI. But not every load supports such low levels. For that reas the minimum dimming level is not a static value and is calculated for every load new. www.tridic.com 3
luxcotro lighting ctrol system 3.2 Wiring type and cross secti The wiring can be in stranded wires with ferrules or solid. For perfect functi of the cage clamp terminals the strip length should be 4 5 mm for the input terminal. The max. torque at the clamping screw (M3) is 0.2 m. Side D2 max. = 8,0 mm min. = 4,0 mm Side D1 max. = 6,0 mm min. = 2,0 mm 4 5 4 5 To get a proper working strain relief it is recommended that the cable jacket diameter of the side D2 is 2 mm bigger than the diameter of the side D1. (This can vary if the used cable jacket material varies from side D2 to D1 in pinching property). PRESS and corridorfuctio are very simple tools for ctrolling gears with cvential pushbutts or moti sensors. To ensure correct operati a sinusoidal mains voltage with a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz is required at the ctrol input. Special attenti must be paid to achieving clear zero crossings. Serious mains faults may impair the operati of and corridorfuctio. 4.3 When a new unit is installed in an existing system or when the system is first put into operati the individual units are not synchrised. This means that some units will be at status and some at status. Pressing the switch briefly will change the status; units previously will be switched, but the rest will be switched. By pressing the switch for lger than 10 secds all the units will be synchrised to the same status. The synchrisati process is completed when all the lamps have assumed the same light value (50 %). The same synchrisati process may also be necessary during normal operati if an individual unit becomes unsynchrised because of an incorrect switching operati. is a very simple tool for ctrolling ballasts with cvential momentary-acti switches or moti sensors. To ensure correct operati a sinusoidal mains voltage with a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz is required at the ctrol input. Special attenti must be paid to achieving clear zero crossings. Serious mains faults may impair the operati of. D1 4. Functis 4.1 Ctrol input (DA/, DA/) D2 4.4 Automatic load measurement In default setting the PCD does an automatic load measurement after every mains interrupti. This guaranties ideal load ctrol. The automatic load measurement can be disabled via the Software mastercofigurator or with the reset switch. If the PO (Power On evel) is set to 0, and the PCD has experienced a mains interrupti, the load measurement will be executed after a DAI command > 0 is send to the PCD and not directly after mains is switched back. Digital DAI signal or can be wired the same terminals (DA/ and DA/). The ctrol input is n-polar for digital ctrol signals (DAI, DSI). The ctrol signal is not SEV. Ctrol cable has to be installed in accordance to the requirements of low voltage installatis. Different functis depending each module. 4.2 corridorfuctio The corridorfuctio can be programmed in two different ways. To program the corridorfuctio by means of software a DAI-USB interface is needed in combinati with a DAI PS. The software can be the mastercofigurator. To activate the corridorfuctio without using software a voltage of 230 V has to be applied for five minutes at the cnecti. The unit will then switch automatically to the corridorfuctio. If the corridorfuctio is wrgly activated in a system (for example a switch is used instead of pushbutt), there is the opti of installing a pushbutt and deactivating the corridorfuctio mode by five short pushes of the butt within three secds. www.tridic.com 4
luxcotro lighting ctrol system 4.5 Display of load factor After every automatic load measurement, the amount of possible cnectable loads will be indicated by the indicati ED for 2 minutes. Example for 2 loads 400 ms 2 2 Example for 23 loads 1 400 ms 2 3 Example for 10 loads 100 ms 1 400 ms 1 0 Values up to 99 can be displayed. 0 will be indicated with the ED switched for 100 ms. 1 9 will be indicated with the ED blinking,. Break between digits = 1. Break between full numbers = 400 ms. 4.6 Reset switch The reset switch is located between the DAI and Mains terminals. By operating the reset switch a new load measurement can be executed. After this measurement the PM (Physical Minimum evel) will be changed and the automatic load measurement will be deactivated. In additi in the secd phase the PCD can be reset to factory settings. The automatic load measurement is active in the factory settings. ED Time Phase 1 Phase 2 2 s 2 s 5 s 30 s Release switch in Phase 1 = oad measurement will be executed, the PHM will be changed accordingly to the measurement result. Automatic load measurement will be deactivated. Release switch in Phase 2 = The PCD will be reset to factory settings. Automatic load measurement will be activated again and executed after every mains interrupti. Important the switch has to be released within the 2 secd window in which the indicati ED is switched. The executi of Phase 1 and 2 will be visualized by a sequence of the indicati ED. The sequence will start 5 secds after the phase during witch the switch was released.
