BEYOND THE STAGE 2018/19 SERIES SERIES PARTNER

Series Partner ATB Financial is committed to enriching the lives of Albertans and we can t think of a better way to do that than by supporting the immersive artistic experiences provided by The Club at the Citadel Theatre. We are passionate sponsors of the Beyond the Stage Series for 2018/19. Enjoy the show! BEYOND THE STAGE 2018/19 SERIES Our 2018/19 Beyond the Stage series is a chance to experience exciting theatrical experimentation: shows that are a fantastic hybrid of story and song; shows in which the actor is handed the script for the very first time when they step on stage; and shows that take place everywhere in our building except the theatres. Celebrated international artists, local celebrities, exciting new work, and the return of Made in Italy (back by popular demand!) - we hope you ll join us for all six of these great opportunities to go Beyond the Stage! BRIDGET RYAN S OH, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING! OCTOBER 19 & 20, 2018 Edmonton favourite Bridget Ryan returns to her cabaret roots to explore over 15 wacky, unpredictable, and extremely hilarious years working as the Remote Host on morning television in the largest, most northerly remote city in North America. Known for her unusual method of storytelling through rockin song and story, Bridget will take you on a tour de force, behind-the-scenes look at our obsession with TV and social media, and introduce you to dozens of characters she s met over the years. LEGENDS OF CARNEGIE HALL NOVEMBER 16 & 17, 2018 Canadian songbird Alison MacDonald performs a musical celebration of the incredible women who have graced the stage at Carnegie Hall. An evening filled with stories and songs made famous by Patsy Cline, Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, Carole King, Ella Fitzgerald, and more! Accompanied by a jazz trio and special guests, it will be a night to remember. BTS 6-Show Packages Only $170 +Fees & GST Photo by Ryan Parker Photography.

NUELA CHARLES JANUARY 18 & 19, 2019 Nuela Charles is a Canadian singer/ songwriter, known for her soulful vocals and captivating stage presence. Noted by U.K. s Metro as cocked, locked and ready to be shot onto the world stage with a soulful voice that may one day fill the Amy Winehouse-shaped holes in everyone s hearts, Nuela brings her distinct voice (and an incredible band) to heat up The Club in the New Year. All Tickets Start As Low As $30 +Fees & GST MADE IN ITALY FEBRUARY 14 16, 2019 Written and Performed by FARREN TIMOTEO Directed by DARYL CLORAN HE S BACK. A raucous coming of age story about an Italian teenager growing up in Jasper in the 1970s, caught between two worlds and determined to make his mark. Filled with great songs (Italian and Disco!) and delicious comedy, this is a not-tobe-missed tale about a kid with the heart of Rocky Balboa and the moves (and hair) of John Travolta. Farren Timoteo is in a category all his own. He s young all right, but he s already a star. EDMONTON JOURNAL A Western Canada Theatre Production (Kamloops, B.C.) MARCH 27 - APRIL 7, 2019 8:00 PM EVERYWHERE BUT THE CLUB Written by BETH GRAHAM Directed by HEATHER INGLIS Strange days. What we see and hear is constantly called into question. We are navigating a hall of mirrors our senses can no longer be trusted. A theatrical experiment with Edmonton s THEATRE YES, this roving production will take you on a physical journey from opulent lobbies to the hidden corners of the Citadel Theatre. SLIGHT OF MIND is a one-of-kind theatrical adventure that will take you to the cross-roads where myth, fact, fiction, and illusion meet. The Citadel s dramatic architecture becomes a canvas for one of Edmonton s most innovative companies to create an unforgettable, interactive experience you won t want to miss. Buy a 6-Show BTS Package AND SAVE! Photo Illustration by Kristen Hiemstra. NASSIM APRIL 30 MAY 5, 2019 8:00 PM (MAY 5 2:00 PM) THE CLUB A BUSH THEATRE and NASSIM SOLEIMANPOUR production Written by NASSIM SOLEIMANPOUR From Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour comes an audacious new theatrical experiment: Each night a different Edmonton performer joins the playwright on stage, while the script waits unseen in a sealed box Touchingly autobiographical yet powerfully universal, NASSIM is a striking theatrical demonstration of how language can both divide and unite us. Emotionally charged theatrical experiment. THE STAGE In collaboration with The Cultch (Vancouver, B.C.) Photo by David Monteith-Hodge. SLIGHT OF MIND
