Dealer radius clause Does this need to be the main office/headquarters? Does there need to be an office and warehouse facility within that radius? Can Section 2.2.4 be expanded from 60 miles to 125 miles? ANSWER: A warehouse facility or similar location where equipment is rack fabricated and assembly occurs and where technicians report and are dispatched shall be within 60 miles of the Board of Education building. 2. Bid bond and Proposal deposit There is no amount referenced in the proposal deposit. What is the proposal deposit? What is the bid bond? ANSWER: There are no bid/ proposal bond requirements for this RFP. 3. Are there trade-ins anticipated? ANSWER: No 4. There is a reference to some equipment being reused. What equipment is going to be reused? How can we be sure that the reused equipment is up to standard? 1
ANSWER: The re-used equipment is: (1) Telex MS-2001 Intercom base station, (2) Alesis MK-2 Near-field Monitor speakers and (1) ESE ES-391U Countdown clock. AACPS will show the Successful Offeror that the equipment is functional. 5. The RFP references removing existing soundproofing. How is current soundproofing installed? ANSWER: Soundproofing is glued to the surface. 6. Does the wall need to be resurfaced? ANSWER: No. 7. In the control room, is the window included in this project? How does this need to be soundproofed? ANSWER: Yes the window is included. We want the window filled in. Not a panel placed on top of the window. 8. Is permitting necessary? ANSWER: No. 9. Discussed at the pre-bid was for the County to provide a complete full list of all Owner Furnished Equipment by make and model that will be installed by the awardee. ANSWER: See Question 4. 10. In section 2.5.3.2 (page 21), there is no need for a hardware-based Character Generator system since the Compix Linx ID. Is a software-only Character Generator that provides Key & Fill signals via the Network to the TriCaster 8000? (Requirement to run this software is one (1) workstation computer with the following specifications: For 1080i: NVIDIA based chipset equal to or exceeding 80 GB maximum memory bandwidth OS: Windows 7, 8 with NDI. Processor: Intel Core i7 processor, RAM: 8 GB RAM, Gigabit Ethernet connection, Network Cable: CAT 6. ) ANSWER: Yes, the Compix Link ID as a software-only character generator via a network connection to the Tricaster 8000 is an acceptable solution. 11. Please take a look at Page 47 of your documents. The cost proposal form connected here isn t even for this bid. Is the lighting, background and soundproofing bid out separately now? 2
ANSWER: Please see the Revised Cost Proposal form attached. Please remit the Revised form with your Cost Proposal. 12. Are there architectural drawings available for bidders? ANSWER: No 13. What are the cable distances for camera poke throughs? ANSWER: At each camera location, there shall be 10 feet of additional cable for camera movement. 14. What items will you re-use as CFE? ANSWER: See Question 4. 15. Where will the SAN live? Who is responsible for providing the rack for the SAN solution? (Section 2.5.4). ANSWER: The SAN will reside adjacent to master control. The Successful Offeror shall be responsible for providing the rack for the SAN. 16. Will the County be providing a cable drop at the hallway monitor location referenced in Section 2.5.2.7 or is the Successful Offeror required to pull this cable? If the Successful Offeror is required, where does this cable get run from? ANSWER: There is an existing cable drop and cable box within the studio approximately 10 feet from the hallway monitor that may be utilized. The Successful Offeror shall run any additional cable needed to the hallway monitor. 17. In Section 2.5.3.2, it references an HD-SDI connection for the Compix Linx. Are we able to use a network connection between the Tricaster and the CG rather than HD- SDI? ANSWER: Yes. 18. In Section 2.5.3.15, it references that the successful bidder is responsible for wrapping existing equipment for transport and delivering to the TV production staff. Please clarify exactly what these requirements are referencing and where we would be delivering the equipment to. 3
ANSWER: The equipment will be wrapped for transport and storage and delivered to the loading dock which is adjacent to the control room. 19. In Section 2.5.3.15, it references disposing of unused cabling and cabinetry. Can we use a dumpster onsite at the location of the studio? ANSWER: Yes. 20. In Section 2.5.3.13, it references remote power switches. Can we make a recommendation for a different type of system here as simply powering on/off the Tricaster by turning off the power is not recommended since it a PC based switcher? ANSWER: Yes as long as the mixer and speakers are sequenced. An acceptable solution would be for the Tricaster to not be on the power sequencers and be powered directly by the UPS.
