FACULTY OF LANGUAGES SYLLABUS FOR ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN FRENCH (Part Time) EXAMINATION: 2013 GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY AMRITSAR Note: (i) Copy rights are reserved. 1 Paper-I (Written): Composition, Grammar & Comprehension Time: 3 Hrs. Max. Marks: 100 Instructions: Two questions are to be set from each section. Students shall attempt one out of the two for twenty marks each. -80 marks One objective compulsory question (in the form of fill in the blanks or multiple choices) is to be set from the syllabus mentioned above. - 20 marks A. Composition i) A composition of around 200 words from the given topics 20 (One out of four) ii) An official letter in French (one out of two) 15 B. Translation from French to English. (Passage) 20 2. Translation from English to French. (Short sentences) 20 B TEXT: 1. Questions from main texts of lesions from the text book, excluding articles, extracts etc. given after the lesions. (5 out of 7 questions to be attempted) 20 2. Questions of general comprehension pertaining to the vocabulary covered in the text book (e.g. Comment aimez vous passer l;es vacances?) 20 3. Objective type questions pertaining to the various aspects of French civilization covered in the textbook. (10 questions out of 15 in the form of fill in the blanks or multiple choices to be attempted). 20 NOTE: Use of Dictionaries is permitted.
