Aout The Music: KINGSTREE OVERTURE is an original composition in A-B-A orm ased on the concert B% scale and eatures contrasting sections as ell as contrasting styles and colors. It as ritten to make your developing and sound musically mature, ith attention to attacks and releases, characteristic tone quality and phrasing. The opening cornet/trumpet igure, reiterated in the second measure y the lo rass and oodinds, should e played in a anare-like style, marcato (ell marked) ut not too short. Although all the parts are marked orte, take care that the drums do not overpoer the ind instruments and encourage the ind instruments to listen to the drums or accurate sudivision o the eats. The descending scale in the lo rass and oodinds contrasts ith the ascending scale in the lute and optional ooe and the decrescendo should e exaggerated, i necessary.
