GRADE 6 All students in Grade 6 will read: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan The student will have to complete two written assignments one for each book. One will be a movie review, the other will be journal entries of their chosen character. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe: Students will write a book review of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This will be written in the student s voice as a book critic, awarding the book either a thumbs up or a thumbs down rating. This critique should include a review of the plot, the genre, the theme, characterizations and overall rating and impression. (At least one typed page. 12 pt. font. Times New Roman. Doublespaced.) The Red Pyramid: Students will write five journal entries in the voice of their chosen character in the book, The Red Pyramid. Each journal entry should be at least one paragraph (5-7 sentences) and include details from the plot and extended understanding of the theme.

As you know, IXL provides instant feedback and aids students in math comprehension by offering explanations of incorrect answers.
