SR Series Type D mechanical diaphragm The right dosing choice
SR Series Type D
Mechanical Diaphragm Dosing Pumps SUPPORTING ELEMENTS OF OUR PRODUCTS Versatility Different diaphragm sizes are available to suit different applications. Starting from 1.25 gph to 181.9 gph. Reliability The use of quality materials along with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability assures maximum reliability for the mechanical diaphragm SR series. Quality The best performance for each application is achieved through optimal selection of pump materials and diaphragm design. FEATURES Mechanical Diaphragm pumps are suitable for use when: - The dosed liquid contains small amounts of suspended solids - The dosed liquid is a toxic solution - A drip proof/air tight application is required - High pressure is not required Each pump has a standard gearbox reduction system and is available with either a NEMA 56C motor flange (with or without motor) and is also available with an IEC B14 electric motor that meets UNEL-MEC specifications. The motor power range is from 1/4 HP to 1/2 HP and for IEC motors from 0.18 Kw up to 0.37 Kw. There are many options available including different voltages, insulation classes and special explosion proof versions. The gearbox is a standard wormwheel reduction system with all bearings supported within a fully lubricated gearbox. CODE 11 - S.S.316 VERSION CODE 13 - PVC VERSION The mechanism for adjusting the stroke length is a positive stroke spring return that is operated by an eccentric.
SR Series Type D PUMP HEADS Pump heads are manufactured in standard materials: S.S. 316, PVC and PP. A wide range of other materials such as HASTELLOY, ALLOY 20, PTFE and PVDF are also available. Maximum temperature of fluids pumped - 140 F with S.S. 316 pump head - 104 F with PVC pump head Jacketed pump heads for either cooling or heating are available. DIAPHRAGM PTFE SUCTION AND DISCHARGE CONNECTIONS Standard: NPT Upon request: Flanged, ANSI or UNI All pumps use ball check valves as standard: single or double balls in each valve, determined by the piston diameter or the materials of construction. STROKE ADJUSTMENT Flow rate adjustment is possible while the pump is running or stopped. The movement of the diaphragm is based on a precise reciprocating gearbox which provides an exact volumetric displacement. Stroke adjustment can be carried out by the following. - Manual: by a linear micrometer stroke knob - Electrical: via servo motor with 4-20 ma input signal or interfaced with PROFIBUS or other BUS - Pneumatic: by a pneumatic servo controller with signal from 3 to 15 PSI air input. MULTIPLE HEADED PUMPS Pumps with multiple heads are available upon request. Flow rates of each pump head can be adjusted independently while running or stopped. D series Mechanical Diaphragm pumps are available in four different models: - D 50 U Stroke length 5 mm - D 100 U Stroke length 10 mm - D 101 U Stroke length 10 mm - D 121 U Stroke length 12.50 mm The above models have different diaphragm sizes for varied capacities and pressures.

Mechanical Diaphragm Dosing Pumps Typical Installation SAFETY VALVES PULSATION DAMPENERS BACK PRESSURE VALVES FILTERS Each metering pump can be supplied with accessories to enhance the performance and accuracy of the dosing pump system. These accessories will assure : - Increased efficiency and increased pump life - Decreased maintenance and operational costs Controlling fluid dynamics is essential to ensure efficient and safe use of the process system. Uncontrolled fluid in motion can physically destroy a pumping system which includes pump, valves, flow meters, back pressure valves, inline instrumentation and piping. 1.- FILTERS We suggest installing filters on the suction side piping to prevent problems that can be caused by welding particles, seal fragments or impurities in the liquid. The use of filters assures trouble-free dosing. 2.- PRESSURE RELIEF VALVES Pressure relief valves are designed to protect the pump and chemical feed system from over pressure damage caused by defective equipment or a blockage in the chemical feed line. 4.- PULSATION DAMPENER Metering pumps have a pulsating flow. Both spring return plunger dosing pumps and quick closing valves start and stop fluids that are in motion. Spring return plunger dosing pumps derive their pumping action by capturing a given amount of fluid in a chamber and pushing it out of the pump s discharge valve. Each pump cycle also includes a suction stroke during which the discharge fluid flow is stopped. This pumping action produces an acceleration/ deceleration of the fluid, creating units of uncontrolled energy resulting in pulsations observed as pressure spikes. Pulsation dampeners are required for two reasons: - To reduce high, non-permissible pressure fluctuations. - To create a nearly smooth and continuous flow. 5.- CALIBRATION CYLINDERS Calibration Cylinders allow visual confirmation of the pumps flow rate. 3.- BACK PRESSURE VALVES Back pressure valves apply a constant positive pressure to the discharge of the metering pump to prevent siphoning and eliminate varying down-stream line pressure.
