Silent Auction and Quick Pick Items 1. Why have a silent auction? For years, the auction has been one of the highlights of the Carnival. The sale of Items donated from businesses and Turtle Lake families has been key to the success of the Turtle Lake Carnival. 2. Can any Turtle Lake family donate to the auction? Of course! Auction donations do not have to be expensive or even a purchased item. Handcrafted knit or crocheted items, preformatted scrapbooking books, cards, stationery or woodcarvings can be very successful auction items. 3. What auction items have been successful in the past? The list is long- tickets to sporting events, golf passes, live theater/music tickets, restaurant gift cards/certificates, and jewelry have all been successful in past auctions. Businesses can donate goods or services. The auction is a great way to get the word out about home-based businesses or new services available in the area! 4. Can I see in advance what items will be available for the silent auction? Of course! As items come in, we will be updating the Turtle Lake Carnival website to include a list of items available for auction. 5. What is a Quick-Pick? These are small (usually under $25 value) theme-style baskets or items that are sold at a set amount on the day of the carnival. They can be purchased and taken home right away for the determined price. 6. Are there any restrictions or rules regarding donations? Items must be NEW and we cannot accept homemade food items or religious holiday items (i.e. Christmas). All donations are tax deductible. Tax receipts will be available after the auction. For any questions related to the Silent Auction or the Quick-Pick Items, please contact Stefanie Wilkinson 651.336.7192 or Tiffany Johnson 612.309.8284 If you decide to donate a Quick-Pick or Silent Auction Item fill out the form on the opposite page (including total $ value) and bring both the form and the item to school by February 26 th.
