S.K.H. Tsing Yi Chu Yan Primary School Summer Reading Scheme 2018 Primary 1-3 Name: ( ) Class:
Foreword If you are going to get anywhere in life, you have to read a lot of books. ~ Roald Dahl. Reading is fundamental. It is one of the most important ingredients of becoming all that you can be. Summer Reading Scheme is implemented this year with the aim of nurturing students reading habits and fostering self-learning. A reading record booklet is given to each pupil for recording the books they read during the summer vacation. The booklet consists of two parts. The first part is the reading record. Pupils are required to read at least six books appropriate to their levels during the summer vacation and record them in the reading record form. Extra books should also be recorded. The second part is book reports. Pupils have to choose two books they like and complete two book reports. Good works will be displayed in the school library in the coming school year. A suggested booklist is attached on P.5 and P.6 of this booklet. Pupils can choose from the suggested booklist, or according to their own interest and reading levels. Parents are encouraged to choose appropriate books with kids and treat reading as one of the most enjoyable family activities. 1
