TERM FOUR PERFORMING ARTS MUSIC Individual Lessons Students may take individual lessons during normal school hours in flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, violin, cello, drums, guitar, bass guitar, piano and/or voice (singing). The cost for an individual lesson is $32 per week. To enrol, complete and return an enrolment form available from the Music Department, Office. Once students learning an instrument (includes voice) have reached an appropriate standard of performance, they are expected to join the Junior Choir, Choir, Instrumental Ensemble or Concert Band. A fun weekly rehearsal with the opportunity to perform at various concerts and events throughout the year, both at and within the community. Monday 2:30 3:20pm Specialist Choir Open to Year 5 and 6 students who love singing and would love to explore different repertoire and seek a challenge. Lunch time 5-6 Music Junior Orchestra Players of all orchestral and band instruments are welcome. This includes flutes, clarinets, trumpets, trombones, saxophones, violins, cellos, bass guitars, keyboards, pianos, drums, glockenspiels, timpani and xylophones. Students should have been learning their instrument for at least three terms before joining our Junior Orchestra. Music Ensemble Orchestra There will be the opportunity to perform at various concerts and events, both at school and within the community. In addition, students will have the opportunity to perform with students from other ASC schools in combined orchestras and/or bands at the different ASC schools and at other venues such as the Perth Concert Hall. 6-12 Music Classroom
DRAMA Those students who have a special interest in the Performing Arts or being part of a live production are encouraged to participate in Sub- productions. Snapshot Youth Theatre Company offer an after school performance extension programme. It also provides the experience of competition through one day carnivals where teams will have the opportunity to compete against other schools while encouraging fun through sport and exercise. Short Tennis Short tennis will be offered from Week 3-9. It will only start 27 th October 2015. South Courts Boys Cricket Super 8 games and an in school competition for all Year 3 6 students. Girls Cricket This is a programme run by qualified coaches from the WACA and some of our Australian Women s Cricket Champions. The aim is to get girls out playing cricket games in the community. 4-6 Approx. $80 Per (6 sessions) Tee-Ball All Year 3 6 students are welcome to come along and practise your Tee-ball skills and play some Tee-ball games. Badminton If you're fast on your feet and are quick to return a serve then come along and learn how to play Badminton. All you need is your sports uniform and your running shoes, the rest will be provided for you. Advanced Art Advanced Art is for students who have an interest in art and the desire to strengthen their abilities in drawing. Students will be given the opportunity to draw faces, figures, animals, landscapes and still-life drawing, using a variety of materials such as pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, chalk, ink and pen. Art $10 Per Chess Club Come along to the PMACS Chess Club and learn the art of chess. All are welcome from beginners to Grand Masters. In this activity you will learn the finer points to playing and winning a chess game. It has been said that 'a life without playing chess is like a life without listening to music'. 'Every Chess master was once a beginner' Chernev. Science Club Do you like performing experiments, blowing things up and investigating cool Science ideas? You will get to design some of the fun investigations, as well as attempting to complete some brain teasing Science problems! WARNING: ONLY TRUE SCIENCE NERDS NEED TO APPLY. Students can only select this activity ONCE a year. 5.1 $10 Per Scrapbooking Come along and join in the fun and turn your photos into works of art. You will love looking at and showing off your photo albums to family and friends. Students are to bring their own album. 5.3 $25/ BYO Album Model Making Tanks, Planes, Warhammer - all of these models and more are under construction during model making. Tips and tricks available for the beginner or the professional. Students can select a model to build from a range that the school has purchased. T & E C1.6 $20 Per Capoeira 4 kids All over the world children participate in Capoeira, from Brazil to the Netherlands and from Russia to Australia. Capoeira is a fun game for boys and girls. You will be taught to defend yourself, learn to dance, play instruments and perform acrobatics! Western Foyer $80 Per Food for Fun Join us in the kitchen for a hands-on learning experience! Students will be able to take home their creations each week and the cost of this activity goes towards the purchase of ingredients and also the container to take it home. Computer Coding for Kids Computer Coding for Kids introduces students to the basics of Computer programming by creating basic codes to command animated characters to solve problems. Using Apple Ipads and Mac computers, students will enjoy the freedom to create and troubleshoot. 4-6 Academic Extension Archery Would you like to learn archery? We are very lucky to have this activity run by a professional archery instructor. Places are limited so return your enrolment form as soon as possible. 4:15pm 4-12 North Oval $100 Per Table Tennis Table tennis is one of the quickest, most dynamic indoor sports to be played between two or four people. PMACS Table Tennis Club is open to anyone in 3-6. The only required skills are that students can serve and hit the ball back more times than not. Theatre Sports Do you like Drama games? Can you think on your feet? If you like creating short plays and skits within small groups then it is the activity for you! Loads of fun, a lot of laughter and confidence building as well! Western Foyer Cheerleading We are very excited to offer our students a cheerleading programme. Cheerleading will develop athletes to reach their potential in a positive and safe environment. We will work together to build a team spirit, selfconfidence and friendships. Our team will focus on dance skills, basic stunting and tumbling. The cost of this activity goes toward fabric, paints and construction materials. 3-9 1.2 $12 Per Golf Learn to play golf at Carramar Golf Course with a professional. Lessons cover all areas of golf with students working on the driving range and practice greens as well as getting out on the course to play some rounds of golf. It is open to all ages and skill levels.
