2 Sams Desk Again, I am happy to introduce a new activity in the Library since we have our SMART TV. October, was quite successful just one time a week. I will be continuing with Andre Rieu on Tuesdays at 1pm, as it was enjoyed by many and I am so happy to see that. I am adding two other times a week as shown below. On Tuesdays at 1pm: On Wednesday at 3:00pm: On Friday at 10:30am: Andre Rieu concerts Old time music, eg. Hank Williams Weekly News & Current affairs I will be making a calendar very much like the calendar for the Activities and posting it in the Library under the tv. I will also, make extra copies if you would like to take one home. Andre Rieu? This is concert style music. This conductor and violin player, hosts the most fun concerts I have ever seen. I will try Andre for one more month. Old time music, might be Minnie Pearl celebration at the Grand Ole Opry, or a Hank Williams show or any other old time musicians we might like. Weekly News & Current Affairs, we might watch a ted talks about education. Or we might watch the CBS new regarding the Presidential Election. Or CBC about a Canadian election. We might read an article in Mcleans about the Carbon tax, and have a discussion about it. Don t forget you can get your Show Guide in the Library, I will put a few copies by the Smart TV for whom ever would like to take them to their room. If you have any specific entertainer you would like to see, please drop by and let me know. The Show guide will have the Name of Entertainer, or News Program, and the length of time it will air for. I will stay on Friday mornings at 10:30 to have discussions about current affairs. I sure hope you enjoy these new activities in the Library. Thanks, Sam NEWS FROM Page 2

Birthstone of the Month: November birthdays are associated with two gems; Citrine and Topaz. The warm color of Citrine is said to be a gift from the sun and it's believed to be a healing gemstone. Topaz is most desired in its rich orange Imperial Topaz color but it is found in a variety of rich colors like blue, pink and yellow. Birth Flower of the Month: The chrysanthemum is one of the most popular flowers, outshined only by the rose. It is a traditional flower to give on Mother s Day.
