The hot central heating pipes and heat emitter are totally enclosed within the robust steel casing. The clever casing design permits secure key access for cleaning - while TRV control valves can be selected for external or internal (tamperproof) control. By applying test results through a mathematical model, Dunham-Bush engineers have developed a Selection Program to help the heating designer optimise their radiator schedules for all conceivable LPW conditions. BSRIA tested to BS EN 442 heating performance and NS Guidance touch temperatures, System LST is a complete solution for safe efficient heating. Features The Dunham-Bush System LST radiators comprise: - mild steel casing (stove finish to RAL 9010 white) - extruded aluminium grilles (pencil proof) - zinc coated steel backplate (heat reflective) - integral emitter brackets - choice of Element emitters - stock or custom RAL and BS colour finishes - available to order. Installation Sequence 1st fix Fit reflective backplate (Backplate serves as a drilling template) 1st fix Fold out emitter brackets and hang emitter 1st fix Fit TRV and LSV to emitter and connect flow and return pipework 2nd fix When wall and floor finishes are complete, fit sideplates along with external TRV adjuster 2nd fix Fit bottom plinth, inlet grille and top plate (or top grille) 2nd fix Complete installation by fitting front access planel 6

Selection Program Modern heating utilises a wide variety of technologies; condensing and biomass boilers, air and ground source heat pumps, solar thermal etc. Each delivers hot water at different flow temperatures and water flow rates. This presents a significant challenge when deciding the size and performance of LST radiators. Dunham-Bush System LST has been fully tested and verified to BS EN 442. This brochure contains a complete set of comprehensive performance tables for ΔT=50K conditions. In addition, Dunham-Bush have developed product selection software that will calculate the heat outputs and maximum grille touch temperatures for every System LST style and size in the range and for all LPW flow/return conditions. The Selection Program is available from your local Dunham-Bush representative, who will arrange for copy to be emailed to you. Instructions 1. Save the Selection Program to a suitable location on your computer such as your PC desktop. 2. Use Microsoft Excel to open and run the program. 3. When opened, the program runs from a single full-screen window. 4. Simply select casing style, casing depth and emitter type from pull-down menus. 5. Enter water flow, return and air temperatures in the boxes. 6. eat outputs and maximum grille touch temperatures are automatically calculated and displayed. 7. The results display can be printed to hardcopy or PDF using standard print controls. 7

Safe eating For Buildings Under the legal requirements of the ealth & Safety at Work Act 1974, a duty of care is placed on employers and service providers to ensure that adequate precautions are taken to safeguard employees and building occupants. Risk assessments should be carried out to evaluate the potential hazards from burning on hot surfaces. All heating appliances are to be fit for purpose and the responsibility lies with manufacturers, system designers, installers and end users to ensure compliance. The NS guidelines laid down in Safe ot Water & Surface Temperatures, March 1998 requires surface temperatures to be controlled to prevent burns. A limit of 43 C is recommended for applications where occupants may be at risk. Premises where LST heat emitters should be considered under the legislation include: - child care : crèches, nurseries, play & primary schools - healthcare : acute, community care & psychiatric - elderly care : nursing homes, warden assisted, sheltered, retirement - disabled facilities - prisons & secure units - public buildings & sports facilities System LST radiators deliver high levels of safety and heating efficiency to meet the demands of the modern building environment. ow To Select System LST Consider locations and room environment before selecting casing style. Style AT & AF - for wet floor areas, or simply where casings are better sited above skirting. Style BT & BF for wet floor or dry floor areas where pipes approach from below or through walls. Style CT & CF for dry floor areas where the robust floor plinth also provides extra space for pipe runs. Style DF tallboy casings delivering high performance from confined spaces. Element emitters E11, E21, E12, E22, E23 low water content Cu/Al for unrivalled heating performance and rapid response TRV control, saving energy. Suitable for 2-pipe systems. Getting Started 1) Calculate the heat losses to be satisfied by your System LST radiators. 2) Choose your casing style for the room application. 3) Decide on the emitter type. 4) Go to the tables on pages 9 to 21 to find the product combination you require 5) Select the casing, L, D and output you require. 6) Apply the correction factor if your LPW conditions are not ΔT=50K. 7) Use the Selection Program to run alternative LPW design cases. NS Compliance System LST has been independently tested to BSEN442 for heat performance and NS touch temperatures. The tables on page 22 provide further guidance on casing and top grille touch temperatures, as well as correction factors for outputs at conditions that are different to ΔT=50K. Don t forget to use the Selection Program to evaluate your own system characteristics in more depth. 8

Accessories System LST is available to order with thermostatic radiator valves (TRV) and lock shield valves (LSV). We hold stocks of valves from three popular commercial grade valve manufacturers. System LST has been designed to accommodate all makes of internal TRV and the majority of quality external TRV s. TRV handing is also very straight forward, using the removable TRV patch plate to blank off the redundant fixing holes on the casing side plates. TRVs can be fitted on either L or R side, to suit pipework installations on site. Themostatic Radiator Valves (TRV) Our stock TRV kits are supplied boxed ready for 1st fix deliveries and include fittings for 15mm copper connections. All versions employ the capillary tube sensor design for internal tamperproof or external locations. Internal TRV kits include a remote bulb sensor which is safely attached at the bottom air inlet space, secured to a fold out backplate clip. Our stock range includes the following range of TRV adjusters. erz Danfoss oneywell Lock Shield Valves (LSV) Our stock LSV kits are supplied boxed ready for 1st fix deliveries and include fittings for 15mm copper connections. All LSV kits complement the same manufacturer as the TRV kits. Engineering Specification System LST radiators shall be manufactured by Dunham-Bush Ltd to the selection schedule and or drawings and shall comply with the following specification. Certification and Performance Styles AT, BT and CT shall be independently tested and rated to BS EN 442 Part 2 as required by the Constructions Products Directive (89/106/CE). Casings Backplates shall be fabricated from 1.2mm thick galvanised steel, shall include integral fold-out emitter brackets and shall be pre-formed to provide drilling and fixing template. Sideplates shall be 1.2mm thick mild steel, finished in polyester powder coating, complete with rounded corners and removable/repositionable blanking plates, ready to accept TRV adjusters. Grilles shall be formed from polyester powder coated extruded aluminium with pencil-proof openings and be removable to allow cleaning, without the need for tools. Element Emitter Element emitters shall comprise finned tube blocks with aluminum fins mechanically bonded to the Ø15mm copper tube to ensure maximum heat transfer between fins and tube. All bends and fittings within the element blocks shall be formed from brazed capillary fittings. All copper tube/ aluminium elements blocks shall be available in lengths to match the casings. Types E11 and E21 shall be installed in 97mm deep casing; types E12 and E22 in 161mm deep casings and type E23 in 235mm deep casings. Element blocks shall have plain Ø15mm OD tails, suitable for proprietary 15mm connection fittings and shall be supplied an automatic air vent which permits the element to be vented without removing the front access panel. Test and working pressures/temperatures All emitters shall be suitable for maximum cold test pressure of 10.5 barg and maximum working pressure of 7.0 barg. Front access panels shall be 1.2mm thick mild steel, finished in polyester powder coating and shall include robust key operated latches to enable easy access for venting, cleaning and maintenance. Plinths (Styles CT and CF) shall be 1.2mm thick mild steel and finished in polyester powder coating, shall be removable and ready to fit into the sideplates. Style AT casings shall comprise backplates, sideplates, top outlet grille, bottom inlet grille and front access panel. Style AF casings shall comprise backplates, sideplates, front outlet grille, solid top plate, bottom inlet grille and front access panel. Style BT casings shall comprise backplates, sideplates, top outlet grille, front facing inlet grille and front access panel. Style BF casings shall comprise backplates, sideplates, front outlet grille, solid top plate, front inlet grille and front access panel. Element emitters shall be limited to a maximum working temperature of 110 C. System test and working pressures/temperatures shall be adjusted should fittings and valves supplied by others have test or service conditions lower than above. Finish Backplates and internal brackets shall be self-finished hot dipped galvanised steel. Cases (front access panels, sideplates, grilles and plinths) shall be degreased and iron phosphated and coated in polyester powder RAL 9010 white 30% gloss as standard. Where specified, other finishes/colours will apply. Accessories Where specified, optional TRV and LSV kits shall be supplied loose for site fitting and connection. Style CT casings shall comprises backplates, sideplates, top outlet grille, front inlet grille, plinth and front access panels. Style CF casings shall comprises backplates, sideplates, front outlet grille, solid top plate, front inlet grille, plinth and front access panel. Style DF casings shall comprise backplates, sideplates, top outlet grilles, front facing inlet grilles and front access panels. 24

Construction andling The purchaser is responsible for off-loading. System LST is supplied unassembled in kit form for fitting and assembly by others on-site. When a significant quantity of heaters are delivered, they may be palletised and shrink-wrapped. A fork-lift or similar lifting equipment will be required. eaters and components must not be dropped or suffer impact under any circumstances and care should be taken not to scratch the paint finish. Storage eaters should be stored in clean, dry, indoor conditions. Packaging should not be removed until just before installation, unless damage in transit is suspected. Upon receipt of product, the purchaser shall examine the heaters promptly and any claims for damage will only be accepted if, at the time of delivery, the consignment note is endorsed with a note detailing the damage and countersigned by the transport company. Preparation A sound, flat, vertical wall surface is required. The backplate provides a structural frame for fixing the emitter and casing to stud walls. The backplate may be site-drilled to align the fixings with the studding. Suitable fixings such as screws and wall plugs should be used, provided by the installer, for fixing the backplate. All other fixings are supplied by Dunham-Bush. Piping should have been completed as far as possible and connections can be made to 1st fix installations. Installation eaters can be supplied as a single-consignment, or as first and second-fix items if requested at time of order. 1st fix items - backplates, emitters and TRV/LSV kits if ordered. 2nd fix items - sideplates, grilles, plinths and front access panels.
