The cast list will be posted on the website on Friday, September 5 at 3:00pm and posted on the wall outside the Lower Commons at 3:30pm. PRODUCTION Scripts: Each member of the cast will receive a souvenir script for the show. They will need to take care of the script. If lost, a new one can be purchased for $20. Take proper care of all materials including scripts, props, set pieces and costumes. Participate fully in all rehearsals and performances. We have been working with our Athletic Director to avoid sports practices and meets. These rehearsals are mandatory and students can miss only one afterschool rehearsal but no performances. It is imperative that when students sign up they are committed to attending rehearsals and performances. Ensemble rehearsals are during DAY 2 Study Hall and run from Tuesday, September 2 to November 14. If casted as a lead, students may have rehearsals during a weekday afterschool. If a student is not in rehearsal during a study hall day they will be asked to attend study hall for that rehearsal. 3

The Audition Process Dance Audition: The kids will learn a short combination of multiple steps that they will perform for us in groups. We will assess how well they can dance in order to group them in certain dance numbers. Everyone will be involved in this. Bring your dancing shoes. No flip-flops. Acting and Singing Audition: Closed Auditions. Actors are to learn and sing their song one by one. Actors are asked to sing their song. Song choice should be in the same style as the music from the show. If auditioning for a character part, try to find a song that suits that character. - They will later be asked to do their lines, which will is included in this packet. (These should be prepared as much as possible. We get to see a lot more of their personality and acting skills when they are not fully inhibited by a cold reading script. We try to make this process as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Remember to have fun!! Callbacks: At the end of the second day, we may group kids together that we are interested in for certain parts. Not getting called back doesn t mean we didn t like someone; we may just not need to see them again. Audition Materials Audition Songs: Please prepare one of the following pieces of music for the audition you may sing any of them, but you will only be allowed to sing one of them at the time of the audition.
