Product information Intelligent 3G/HD/SD-SDI & ASI Fibre Optical converters // OxMC2 series converters Key features The SmartFibre OxMC2 Series Video Fibre Optic Transmitter and Receiver converters provide high performance transport of digital video signals over single mode optical fibre. These are intelligent converters that not only automatically detect 3G/HD/SD-SDI and DVB-ASI signals and transparently pass them through but, also incorporate digital diagnostics which constantly monitor the status of the signals. This helps warn of impending problems and signal failures due to poor cable termination or other issues with the cable path. When used in a 1RU rack mount system the signal status and alarms are accessible via the web browser, therefore providing centralised signal monitoring of all signal paths. The real-time signal status monitoring data is shown in the built-in display which indicates: Signal format status Signal sync status Optical link status Optical power level Temperature This SmartFibre system is unique and has many advantages over simple plug n pray fibre links and benefits users with quantitative signal path and device information, which is especially valuable for setting up links and in time of crisis when time is of the utmost importance. For field deployable systems any combination of 4 SmartFibre OxMC- 2s can be used in a ruggedised throw-down box with optional CWDM de/multiplexers and high capacity, on-board batteries. Alternatively, for studios up to 16 may be used in a 1 RU rack with CWDM de/ multiplexers and centralised signal status monitoring via a web browser. These units accept a wide range of power, from +4.5V DC to +20V DC. There is an optional AC/DC type power supply with a 4 pin mini XLR connector.
