8 SERIES D. SCRAPBOOKS AND LOOSE CLIPPINGS, and n.d. (continued) his political career. They contain newspaper and magazine clippings, letters, telegraphs, photographs, Congressional Record pages, programs, and other items. This material traces Boykin s activities from 1935 to 1962 and deals with his campaigns, legislation, social life, and viewponts on local, national, and international current events. The books also include many clippings about family members and acquaintances, Alabama, and his home district. Frank W. Boykin Papers Scrapbooks proceed in chronological order though some dates overlap. This overlapping occurs mostly in the books of the 1930s and in supplemental volumes devoted to specific subjects. Within the albums, clippings are often grouped first topically and then by date. The books themselves are arranged by month and year, but volume numbers do not follow this chronological order. Volumes in extremely poor condition have been dismantled, and the contents have been placed in separate boxes. Any loose items found in the scrapbooks have been removed and put in folders. The dates of this material do not always match those of the corresponding scrapbooks. 8 4 Loose clippings from Vol. 48, 1935 and n.d. 6 Vol. 48 Mar.-May Loose clippings from Vol. 33, 1935, 1947 and n.d.
