In 1914 he formed the Natal Light Horse which saw service in the German South West Africa campaign but was subsequently disbanded. Later in Egypt & Palestine with the 3rd Australian Light Horse Brigade he gained the title nickname at the battle of Romani during the Palestine campaign due to his frequent galloping horse excursions to rouse his troops to greater action at the front #24850 Fuller, J.F.C. He was present at many major engagements and gives memorable accounts of Colenso, of the Boer attempt to break into Ladysmith by storming the Platrand, of his own adventures while on commando and of the great De Wet c Fables Bookshop

6 hunts. His bitter commentary upon the scorched earth policy (burning farmhouses, killing livestock, and of course the concentration camps) provides a moving counterpoint to the fighting. 7 Georges, Compte de Villebois-Mareuil was the youngest Colonel in the French army and had commanded the French Foreign Legion in Algeria. Tafelberg Gideon Scheepers, a 23 year old Boer fighter, was executed by British firing squad next to an empty grave only months before the Anglo-Boer War came to an end. The body was exhumed and reburied in an unknown grave to prevent his commando from recovering it. There are 12 chapters relating to the Boer War. In 1895 he founded the American Mutoscope and Biograph Company which was the first motion picture company devoted entirely to film production and exhibition.
