1 INTI JOURNAL: INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS Introduction. The INTI Journal is intended to provide an avenue for the dissemination of information on all academic disciplines by our staff. Authors are encouraged to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely. Papers in languages other than English will not be accepted. Papers on sensitive issues are not relevant to the scope of this Journal. Manuscripts are considered on the understanding that their contents have not been published or submitted elsewhere, and will not be submitted to other journals or publications. Authors are fully responsible for the text and opinions expressed. Submission of manuscripts. Manuscripts (research, review or short communication) should be typed using the Microsoft office programme, double-spaced, on A4 (210 x 297mm) format with wide (25mm) margins all around. Please send 2 hard copies and an attached file via to Ms Melisa Kaur (melisa@inti.edu.my), The Executive Editor, INTI Journal, INTI College, No 3 Jalan SS 15/8, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Reviewers. Papers are judged on their content, accuracy and clarity by Reviewers. The Reviewers and Editorial Committee reserve the right to accept or reject, and edit all manuscripts, as they deem fit. The Panel of Advisors provides guidance to the Editorial committee and reviewers. Length. A Lead review, Review paper or Research paper should not exceed 25 printed pages in length, A short communication should not exceed 6 pages. Presentation Title, author, affiliation, postal and addresses. Please refer to a recent issue of the Journal for the complete format. The title should be concise but informative and typed in capital case and placed in the centre. Avoid scientific names in the title unless essential. Example: THE EDUCATIONAL CHANGE PROCESS AND NEEDS ASSESSMENT : A PERSONAL VIEW Lim Ho Peng School of Languages and Liberal Arts, INTI College Malaysia, Bandar Baru Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia (lhpeng@inti.edu.my) A review paper or short communication should have the following sections, for example, ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, TOPICAL HEADINGS, CONCLUSION, ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS (if any) and REFERENCES. A research paper should be divided into sections, for example, ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, MATERIALS AND METHODS, RESULTS, DISCUSSION, ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS (if any) and REFERENCES. Survey questionnaires and appendices should be placed at the end of the paper. Headings of sections should be capitalised and flushed to the left. Sub-headings should be typed in bold case. Abstract. The abstract should summarise the paper not more than 200 words and should state the results and conclusion of the paper. Latin names. These names of organisms should be in italics and the authority given when the name is first mentioned in the text, for example, Imperata cylindrica (L.) Raeuschel. Measurements. All measurements should be in metric units, where applicable. continue...

2 Tables. Avoid abbreviations such as dittos, dashes and vertical lines to separate columns in the table. You need to make reference to the Table(s). A table (to be typed in lower case) should be self explanatory and should have a clear and concise title, which appears on the top of the Table. Figures and photographs. Both are to be labelled as Figures. Captions should be typed in lower case together on a separate page and placed below the Figure. Illustrations should be numbered according to their sequence in the text. References should be made in the text to each illustration. Identify each figure lightly in pencil on the back. Do not submit illustrations larger than 150 x 280mm. Photographs should be of good contrast and on glossy paper. Drawing including graphs. Indicate enlargement of illustrations when necessary; a scale line incorporated in the drawing is a satisfactory method. Authors wishing to borrow published illustrations should obtain prior permission to reproduce before submitting the manuscript. References. Only publications cited in the text should be given in references, which are arranged alphabetically. All literature cited should be closely relevant to the author s work. Exhaustive lists should be avoided. Personal communications, although not encouraged, may be cited when essential to the text. Author(s) citation. References are to be cited by the author s surname and year of publication: e.g. (Zulkliply, 2001). For two authors, both names should be cited: e.g. (Lee and Teoh, 1995). For three or more authors, add et al. after the first author: e.g. Prasad et al. (2002). Book references should include author s surname and initials, year of publication, title of book, editor (if any), publisher, city of publication, and number of pages. Paul, D. A. (1977). These must be corrected by the author upon receipt and returned to the Executive Editor within 14 days of receipt. No changes other than editorial corrections should be made. Where a paper has joint authors, one author must accept responsibility for all correspondence. Upon publication of the paper, two copies of the Journal (in which the author s paper was printed) will be given by the Business Manager (Mr. Chan Thiam Hwo, Tel ext. 209) to the author.
